Ive noticed the game shows you what hull sail material, and other your fleet ships have, or atleast, for the first 16, but ive also noticed, overall this means pretty much means nothing except for health, and i cant even change out what they’re using

My proposal : editing you fleet command ships

so not editing the vice command ships, only the command ships, youd be able to add or take off parts from your command ships, there would be an “edit command ship” button near where it displays the parts of the command ship, in which itll bring you to a thing similar to the where you edit your own ship except for your fleet ship

stat effects

defense : having defense will obviously increase the amounnt of health your fleet ship has, but also, itll decrease the cost to repair it, at a conversion of 5000 health per 1% discount

cannon/mortar stats : cannons/mortars will be a bit more unique, cannon damage will increase money gain from patrol cannon speed and range will decrease the damage taken

speed : this will increase the effectiveness of things like harvesting, fishing, and will give an even better bonus for exploring (this will also decrease food requirements but increase supplies requirements)

stability : this will slightly decrease the damage taken OVERALL no matter which task, but only by small amounts (10% stability per 0.5% overall resistance to dmg)

resilience : basically speed but a little worse but with no debuffs

turning : more variety from tasks that give items, as in like more items overall, and more types

ram power : largely increase money gain from patrol, except ships will take more damage when put on patrol (increase strength requirements

ram defense : if you have high ram power, your ships will take less damage on patrol (but not enough to fully cancel out the ram power damage) (decrease strength requirements)

all these stats will be totalled up between ALL command ships and all the debuffs and buffs will be applied to every ship, and no they wont THAT heavily effect it

reasoning : i think it could be interesting to edit out builds for your ship, like going all in on speed, and turning to get tons of junk items to sell, or minmaxing to gain as much money as possible by completely destroying all your ships with tons of ram power and damage

my own concerns : this may be unbalanced and if were added may need balance changes to prevent what happened with trading and having inflation go through the roof and making drachma worth infinite times less than any other currency, so yes there are some concerns with this, but it could probably be balanced

90% of these errors are from me not putting ‘ and also most of them are blue, so not errors in particular

blue still equals bad writing

just use microsoft word to clean it up next time cause no one’s going to read 3 paragraphs filled with grammatical and spelling errors

then dont read it if u dont want to bru

This sounds great! I thought the same thing when I saw that I could see what the ships had, and I was really disappointed when I couldn’t edit it. I think the fleet system needs some reworking, and this would be a great addition!

Unfortunately, I got told by Microsoft to pay for a Ms word. Even an alternative like WPS office tells you to sell your data to data brokers.

Talking about the suggestion, I can feel those who don’t give a damn about their fleet and just want them to passively make money would like to have defense and stability.

I was concerned about being able to get the over-leveled ship parts that can appear on certain ships, but you wouldn’t be able to use them and Notoriety 5 brigs exist anyways, so it’d probably be fine when it comes to that issue.

However, Notoriety 5 brigs also present the issue of balancing the fleet stats. If you balance the fleet stats around parts that players are normally able to obtain, then Notoriety 5 brigs would be overpowered; on the other hand, if you balance the fleet stats around the Notoriety 5 brigs, then everything else would become useless. Either direction you take would be bad, either making fleets overpowered again and further ruining the economy or just being development time that could’ve been put into something more substantial than a feature only minmaxers would focus on. Because of this, I cannot give your suggestion my vote, as much as I would love to be able to customize my fleet.

Also on that note, if I could add something to this suggestion, it’d be the ability to rename the ship as well as maybe the ability to paint it too (I assume cosmetic ship parts would be included in the fleet shipyard but add those too if that isn’t the case). It’d be cool to have your other files’ brigs in your fleet.

I’d love this idea if you could add more customization like re-naming your command and vice-command ships as well as recoloring them
