Ive noticed the game shows you what hull sail material, and other your fleet ships have, or atleast, for the first 16, but ive also noticed, overall this means pretty much means nothing except for health, and i cant even change out what they’re using
My proposal : editing you fleet command ships
so not editing the vice command ships, only the command ships, youd be able to add or take off parts from your command ships, there would be an “edit command ship” button near where it displays the parts of the command ship, in which itll bring you to a thing similar to the where you edit your own ship except for your fleet ship
stat effects
defense : having defense will obviously increase the amounnt of health your fleet ship has, but also, itll decrease the cost to repair it, at a conversion of 5000 health per 1% discount
cannon/mortar stats : cannons/mortars will be a bit more unique, cannon damage will increase money gain from patrol cannon speed and range will decrease the damage taken
speed : this will increase the effectiveness of things like harvesting, fishing, and will give an even better bonus for exploring (this will also decrease food requirements but increase supplies requirements)
stability : this will slightly decrease the damage taken OVERALL no matter which task, but only by small amounts (10% stability per 0.5% overall resistance to dmg)
resilience : basically speed but a little worse but with no debuffs
turning : more variety from tasks that give items, as in like more items overall, and more types
ram power : largely increase money gain from patrol, except ships will take more damage when put on patrol (increase strength requirements
ram defense : if you have high ram power, your ships will take less damage on patrol (but not enough to fully cancel out the ram power damage) (decrease strength requirements)
all these stats will be totalled up between ALL command ships and all the debuffs and buffs will be applied to every ship, and no they wont THAT heavily effect it
reasoning : i think it could be interesting to edit out builds for your ship, like going all in on speed, and turning to get tons of junk items to sell, or minmaxing to gain as much money as possible by completely destroying all your ships with tons of ram power and damage
my own concerns : this may be unbalanced and if were added may need balance changes to prevent what happened with trading and having inflation go through the roof and making drachma worth infinite times less than any other currency, so yes there are some concerns with this, but it could probably be balanced
