I like to keep my expectations low, so when Shieldguard has anything to do at all, I’ll be impressed
And even still, Mistral Update made me die inside.

5 heavily armored brigs inbound. Also rear admiral admins and Martin
To be fair, vetex was still trying to stick to monthly and failing completely. I think letting him actually work on features he wants to is good for the game
The real big killer of that update was the poll.
People wanted better weapon skills, but at what cost?
Yeah, pretty much how I feel every update since Nimbus. Zero expectations, so anything is exciting.
Even Nimbus impressed me
To be fair, nimbus was unironically good. The weapon wipe just ruined everyone’s opinions of it though (also rip thermo)
Well Captain Maria was still a trainwreck.
Honestly, I’m glad someone found it impressive. For me, though, the item wipe, empty sea, and only 15 minutes of story left a bit of a sour taste.
Better than just a lack of any bossfight. Also plunderers allow a new high for gunmaxxers
I lost a sunken iron chestpiece, so yeah, it was pretty sad.
That’s… not a weapon?
I know, I don’t know what happened to it!
I luckily did not play on release, but I had a bunch of people who lost Sunkens which basically just killed the game for them. Really sucks.
I wasn’t awake on release either, I just don’t know where my sunken iron is.
Actually I think it was boots, and I’ve gotten a new pair since.
Yeah I went on the deepwoken wiki once and queried about arcane odyssey. They all thought it was dead and a crap game after nimbus. Granted deepwoken players aren’t exactly reliable considering they have a massive superiority complex over other roblox RPGs, but still
Dang, that still sucks though.
I suddenly find it hilarious for other Roblox RPG-goers to just imagine AO as a dead game for no reason
I mean to be fair it is kind of semi dead right now. Empires is gonna revive it tho. Kind of like deepwoken in a way. Just subsisting off of minimal content waiting for an update that will “save us”
Deepwoken isn’t even an RPG.
But I do think Deepwoken has some cool things that AO doesn’t.
