it’s an outdated term that only older people use primarily as a mocking word for trans people
tho that’s just what i’ve personally observed and seen in life (my dad is a transphobe and calls trans ppl “transvestites”)
which is why i find that word extremely uncomfortable and insulting tbh. you could just say “crossdresser” or smth
Huh? I don’t know what kind of community you live in, transvestite is definitely not a derogatory term for transsexuals here.
sigh maybe it’s just me and it really isn’t lol but it’s been used as a slur around me my entire life so idk it feels like a slur to me (and i live in northeastern europe aka a pretty conservative place)
cuz it doesn’t feel nice constantly hearing “those transvestites are so fucked up!! always cutting themselves up!! r slur!” y’know

If anything, it would be a way to ‘deadname’ (sort of) transgenders by calling them transvestites, but that’s all.
it is easter europe if you look at the european union which focuses more on the western part but due to ukraine joining you could theoreticlly say that we count into central as well
