Watched it last night and genuinely, what the fuck? They took one of the coolest earthbending abilities of being able to sense vibrations, away from the badger moles, and replaces it with them seeing things through emotions, most prominently love. What the actual fuck man, these things don’t use earthbending to see anymore, they use the power of fucking love.
I’ve seen some people try to tell people that they’re just hating because its trendy and thats straight up just bs. This show is just plain dumb, I don’t know if I can force myself to keep watching.
The remake has a lot of problems, Iroh seems less of a guiding figure and most of his lines are rushed
Katara seems to have had any and all of her personality erased
Aapa is seen as mainly transportation and we don’t really see Aang and his relationship with him
There are good scenes and changes but so far it seems like it’s been rushed a bit
I didn’t want to believe that the creators leaving meant it would be bad because them not liking it didn’t necessarily mean it was bad. Sometimes creators when involved can stifle creativity from people expanding on or adapting their works by being too involved and trying to sort’ve “protect their baby” in a way. Prime example being George Lucas
Unfortunately that was not the case this time and they left for more than a good enough reason .
They totally messed up Bumi too, made him a complete jackass who was super pissed at Aang for being gone for 100 years and was weirdly obsessed with prepping Aang for the hard parts of being the Avatar and got mad when Aang’s friends helped him get out of a bad situation. Like it was a complete character assassination it was awful.
