Will make a compilations of leaks:tm: soon. But I need the largest input on something that I’ve been conflicted as shit on.
You see, back when development started, Magic in this game (Which was named as Elemental Assimilation) was something you had to earn for; You would start out with a complete basic magic, not a element, basically just pure energy, which was the majority of your skills - Unlocking new magics were only planned to change and augment existing move sets of the basic magic and grant passives. However, this severely limits the amount of variety of skills possible.
So the question here is; Should skills be directly tied with magic (as in, a custom one for each), completely abandon the elemental magic system (Every skill would be found and learnt through in game means), or something else?
Edit: forgot to mention that the counter system basically just became the very old development deepwoken (pre game release) parry system lmao (the one where you had to hold f first)

What about some sort of fusion of the two. where most skills can be found in-game, but you also have some sort of specialization that enhances the skills that are related to them. And at the same time, you have skills that require certain specializations to use them.
An example would be that with some sort of dash skill that gives you a burst of speed for a small distance. a movement or momentum specialization might improve the speed or shorten the cooldown on it, while a different specialization might do nothing or even weaken it

wait actually this gives me a idea; I think your idea can rework the pre-planned progression system and magic system into something more coherent, since the specializations are not too far away from the original system, thanks!
make it an ancient remnant magic that’s super rare and strong and give it to me first heehee

is wind an element and if it is how rare would it be
the Elemental Assimilation for it (wind) was known as “One with the Wild”. It’s basically just wind magic in AO + slight bleed lol.
All Assimilations are equal rarity; you can quite literally choose which one to get. How it works is that for each element, you’ll have to do it’s own questline that can be found in the world. These questlines are long (like, somewhat the length of the ravenna arc). The main focus for RNG isn’t gonna be the magics anyways.
rather the RNG is gonna fall into the “Convictions” lol… I won’t spoil too much but think of oaths but a tinyy bitttt different.

the funniest part was all these pictures were taken because of a glitch in disabling the GUI which also somehow detaches your camera from the player and makes it so you get minecraft spectator mode
also goddamn progress has been slow school ruined a lot of dev time
