This is a detail about the recent sneak-peeks that I haven’t seen anyone point out yet. All three of the weapons with the exotic enchantments are one rarity higher than they normally are. The Lion’s Halberd is exotic whereas it would normally be rare, Commodore Kai’s Sabre is rare whereas it would normally be uncommon.
This suggests that exotic enchantments raise the rarity of items, or at least weapons. What do you think of this? Is it good, or could it possibly be confusing?
cool weapons brrr
its interesting
Imagine green + green legendary
wait they’re all green anyways
Just imagine disenchanting to spite people
Well these are genuinely better, rarer weapons due to their enchants. I think it makes sense!
I’m more interested in seeing how this affects Jewel/Gem slots on armor with the armor exotic enchants
I think it will probably stay the same because you would be able to do weird things by disenchanting something that has 2 jewels socketed.
Code in a check for disenchants of an exotic+ enchant it’ll do the following:
- Check if the additional jewel slot is vacant or not
- If it is then automatically include the price to remove it in the disenchant.
- On disenchant, remove and add in inventory.
If the additional jewel slot is vacant, then the previous can just be skipped over in the code as the initial conditional was not met (the jewel slot being taken up). Very simple logic but it’s up to Vetex since I don’t know how AO is coded or have a full understanding of Lua.
Could be done but I feel like it makes more sense to just keep the socket amount the same, this also means that certain items don’t become overshadowed due to them still having the advantage of jewels.
If it wasn’t for the max amount of jewels being 2 I’d say that exotic+ could gain an extra jewel slot.
However, in all honesty a better solution is doing what you did, or exotic armor gaining a reinforced jewel slot, and legendary having 2 reinforced jewel slots (these would apply an additional bonus to jewels socketed into them). Reinforced jewel slots would probably be overpowered though…
