Explorer's Guide to the Bronze Sea: Lore Secrets Lightning Round

This is a collection of various secrets that I found in Arcane Odyssey and the answers behind those secrets.

The following contains unmarked spoilers for Arcane Adventures and possibly Arcane Odyssey. Reader discretion is advised.

Wrath of the Gods

In Palo Town, you can talk to Finlay Alford, and he’ll regale you a tale of a few weeks prior. According to him, there was a four month long series of dangerous earthquakes that endangered the lives of all in the Bronze Sea. This event came to be known as the Wrath of the Gods.

The mystery is what caused it. According to Finlay, many people believe that the gods created this event out of anger towards pirates. However, those with extensive lore knowledge will know that this is actually the aftermath of Durza’s defeat.

To elaborate, after being beaten at the end of Arcane Adventures’s storyline, Durza exploded with the full power of all of his Magics and Curses that he had absorbed. This wiped out the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh seas, and caused earthquakes across the entire world. The Arcane Lore document confirms this event as the Wrath of the Gods.

The Aberration

On Whitesummit, if you lie to Rill Hendrix and tell him you can sense energies, he’ll ask if you can sense the Aberration. He explains that it’s a presence of unbelievable dark power far to the south. However, the Arcane Lore document also tells us what this is.

The Aberration is Hades, the last living Greek god and the mastermind behind Durza’s activity in AA. In Y1857 (three years after Arcane Odyssey begins), the Peacekeeper goes to fight Hades—by traveling far to the south. For characters of such an incredible caliber as Hendrix, it would take something as powerful as a god to put him into a cold sweat.

The Great Protector

On Cirrus Island, Daisy Cirro will ask you if you follow her religion worshiping the Great Protector. She adds details by saying that this Great Protector battled an evil called the Vengeful Darkness, and their battle split the world asunder and nearly wiped out the human race.

To anyone who’s played Arcane Adventures, this story sounds eerily familiar, doesn’t it? That’s because it’s the tale of the battle between Theos and Durza! In Y1051, Theos and Durza had a massive fight, and the finishing attack hit the planet and wiped out 80% of mankind. This is that story.

Afterthought

Next, I’ll be doing an Explorer’s Guide to Ravenna. Which islands would you like to see covered after that?

Never knew that hades was the Aberration( I got 0 idea what aberration means), cool guide. You should do Cirrus island next maybe?

What is the caliber of hendrix? i haven’t read the lore doc yet so to me he’s just some guy.

Vet Techs please we need a story about flying alpha white eyes

I’m going to be honest I thought the great protector was us (Peacekeeper) for a bit. Still cool as well regardless.

On a similar note it said Theos did not like attention. Must be rolling in his grave right now. Poor guy can’t catch a break.

The aberration being Hades is a great catch, I hadn’t noticed this connection myself but now that you mention it it definitely makes sense

fighting style mentors in arcane games are notoriously insanely cracked, especially polemos and freedrock in AA

i’m assuming that since hendrix can sense energies from thousands of miles away, he’s also on a similar level

Very big fan of you compiling these Npcs that give substantiel information about the lore of this game, and the bronze sea.

Add stuff like:
Dark Sea Epicenter (Ambranes; Sailor’s Lodge)
the War Seas being Six seas (Alex Stillwater; Redwake Harbor)
King has children (Quintus Bronze; Rasna)
Revon’s girlfriend (Rubica)
Tiberia = Rasna a long time ago (Appius Lurco; Rubica)
Grand Navy being a kingdom back then (Palo Town)

Revon’s ex-girlfriend ( L )

the nice receptionist at silverhold also say this i think, when you ask what gravy is

You should check out the myraid, it has a book about the cursebeard war (which reavaluates everything we knew about the lack of communication between the 7 seas and war seas, or their was another war pre world shatter.) As well as the fall of the arcane goverment and the rise of the grand navy (probably meaning a splinter group of the AG survived the world shatter and tried to set up base here, but something happened and they were replaced by the gravy.)

And finally the fact that kai prob is with order of aesir since if you talk to iris pre sailors lodge then she mentions that gravy hasn’t seen any ships going south, (which is yet again, impossible since we know our friend saw them at Palo and went to sailors lodge to investigate (Palo is next to silver hold, so they must have also seen the sketchy ships and kai just covered it up.) Which is even more likely considering his death dialogue makes his suspicous.

We dont 100% know its hades. It feels weird theos wouldnt sense it but hendrix could, from another sea cluster no less.

Every book in the Myriad was written by Randal, who’s been to the 7 seas and was very likely alive before the shattering

but how would he know about the cursebeard war?

he is old

He’s very wise, and definitely very old. He has experience of and has written books about things many people wouldn’t know about, such as the 5 sea clusters as well as the lives/history of many AA characters such as Durza & Rupin.

Also who knows what the absorbtion curse enables. He might have absorbed memories from people and compiled the books from those memories

Randal’s curse is the Growth Curse, but yeah I do think it’s possible that most of his knowledge comes from watching world events through his plants like he described when we met him at the Myriad. If he’s also able to read minds like he did to us, then he’d be able to know people’s histories as well

@Zel yo read this

Oh nice definitely gonna add this to me and archers lore series
