Lets keep this short, the ‘escape’ function on whirlpools might aswell not even exist outside of strength builds, that’s not ok.
Whirlpools are extremely annoying for the vast majority of players since they’re basically instant-death traps with extra steps.
Solution:
Instead of increasing escape odds specifically with points in strength, this should scale on our level, allowing all classes to reliably escape whirlpools, especially those naturally tied to islands that never despawn.
Being trapped in a whirlpool, especially those with lurkers, is already extremely dangerous even for a short time.
Yes, if you’re wondering, I did just try to explore tidecliff again, this is very annoying, why is this like this?
I’d actually rather there be a function for each “class”(magic, strength, weapons) that helps with getting out of whirlpools rather than it just being level based.
ex. magic users use explosive force to leap out of a whirlpool/reverse(?) the current using magic energy, weapon users get a grappling hook to pull themselves out
I’d want this, but even in the end, I heard even with strength it’s still hard to escape a whirlpool. Also, I heard you can’t just spam the escape button, you have to click it at a certain pace, but I could be wrong.

I think it would be better to just make it like the [Wake Up] prompt on dawn island, which you just needed to spam click. I do not want to deal with a fancy (lame) slot machine where I die if I’m not lucky. (If you have 100% air capacity you are stuck in the whirlpool until you escape which can take quite a bit of time)
(was typing more but I realized I was just ranting at that point)
Escaping whirlpools as a non strength build is just a very bad rng, today I escaped a whirpool manually clicking but couldn’t escape another using an extremely fast autoclicker. It’s just very random
Idk about you but I don’t find it very immersive how I can position an autoclicker on the escape button and still not have it do anything because “haha weak character” despite the fact that a couple moments before said character was spinning tornadoes out of greatswords and flying through the air
