Fall Damage Poll

Fall damage will probably only trigger at least double the height you can gain with high jump and magic leap, so that’d have to be high.

Vetex has said fall dmg triggers x3 if your T jump and can’t be canceled only parried

i feel like they keep adding stuff nobody ever asked for. fall damage feels like itll be a nuisance that only serves to worsen the player experience like water poisoning and do nothing else

I have a wind mage save!1!1!1
I asked for it :smiling_face::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Can you provide a screenshot and clarify what you mean exactly?

kneecaps

wind magic stocks are up

Is the poll about fall damage itself or the reduction from knockback

fall damage itself, that was the first instance of me seeing it being added

im mostly against it because i feel like the dev team is underestimating how far wind builds can fling, 75% is not nearly enough to stop an insta kill so (and this is just an assumption) wind kb builds are likely getting nerfed in the near future

i do hope that fall damage translates horizontally too though, like getting knocked into a wall does more damage

gracefully gliding down with my glider only to hit the ground with the force of a thousand suns and instantly vaporise

I honestly think it’s kind of fun having to watch how you descend. It was annoying at first, mostly because of bugs and knockback cheese while not really understanding how it actually benefits your experience in any way, because as you said, it really seems like just a nuisance.

But after playing with it for a while and learning to play around it, it’s free dopamine to jump off a really high place and mitigate the damage. And outside of that it’s kind of easily played around.

There are still major issues left though, like trying to transport sealed chests in the Dark Seas, or just stacking sources of upward knockback (I severly doubt the status effect will last long enough to survive getting sent to space by a Wind Ult).

If the Dark Seas issue gets solved I don’t think it’ll be a dealbreaker.

The Dark Sea is where this feature is just purely a negative, but it wouldn’t be an issue at all if the islands weren’t TWENTY MILES TALL.

Flatten the Dark Sea NOWWWW

Also reminds me of a time when i was above cloud level on a dark sea ring island at the highest point, falling down a few steps and then when i go below cloud level i am stuck inside the ring with 2 dark sealed chests unable to escape

While i was typing i remembered the grappling hook thing and am now once again perfectly fine

If you don’t wanna parry the fall damage using the climbing hook to set yourself up against the wall, but i still want those islands shortened, I only go to insanity 0 and i hear they get bigger the further you go

Yeah at i1-2 it can genuinely just not be worth getting some chests without a proper mobility build

pretty much why i stay in range 0, it is basically just a slightly higher difficulty for a larger amount of the same stuff + Sirens, which i don’t really need anything from

Considering dragons are one of the new stuff that has started to be worked on, I’ll prob venture out to i1 a lil, but only for the dragons cause the islands in i0 are already bad enough on occasion

If dark sea island generation is changed so later islands aren’t just pillars to the moon that happen to be the size of an entire country (in universe), fall damage shouldn’t be a major problem.

I know the trello updated with it but figured I can still show

which parts tho : P
