I feel like everyone talks about their armour build but not many people talk about their ship builds.
Plus i need inspiration for a fast boat build so if you can, showcase ur best and fastest boat builds

max turning speed op
my turning speed is so bad i litteraly have to stop my boat to do a sharp right
I dont know how to have any balanced boat builds where everything is good. except for speed. i am speed
bruh
the only thing that matters is ship speed as a primary stat, and then turning speed
everything else is secondary, even armor. my boat only has 12k hp and i do just fine
if you want a fast boat, just get all ship speed deckhands, brisk hull armor, and warship archaic sails/willow cloth
willow cloth actually gives 1 more speed than archaic sails, but archaic sails are still overall better because they give some extra wind resistance
This will apply to general sea use, such as travelling between islands and ship-ship combat. If your ship is meant for the Dark Sea, turning speed becomes less important. Useful to be sure, but not always crucial.
my ship stats (rowboat brig)
100% stability
16415 durability
99 turning
119 speed
83% resilience
2471 Ram strength
1003 Ram defense
1010 magic storage
Yessir that’s why we don’t trust optie
Run brisk light silver framing + warship archaic or willow sailcloth + speed deckhands for 155 speed
You joke about it being a rowboat but it only has about 3k more health than this
(Also yes you should definitely use this ship build, it has one use and it is surviving cannon shots)
because its so small hitbox?
Yeah it’s going to be really hard to hit and also you can only really hit one cannonball that barely hurts the boat.
i have an agreeing statement and a counterpoint
statement: and you can use canon fist to wipe out the enemy
counterpoint: siege weapons
Yeah thats why I just said cannon shots. Siege weapons don’t have much trouble with hitting rowboats, especially after they were changed to do a singular damage number rather than having the cannonballs hit.
ayo a turning speed enjoyer
This is imo the best ship build for dark sea grinding, minus the 1 deckhand that gives resilience instead of speed
Anyways, as for pve i enjoy a high turning boat cuz high turning allows you to make more effective use of both cannon sides
Forgoing the cannons is an interesting decision, though I suppose dark sea ship combat is really costly for how much it actually profits you…
Better to just outrun them, or ship looting tip them if you can’t get away
I usually skip the ship fights because usually I somehow manage to get myself killed
