I know, its a joke cause his soo forgerable
My favourite is probably Captain Maria
She’s got cool drops, her bossfight is cool (conjuror in lore vs in gameplay) and the location is alright. I dont know why people are complaining so much, whenever the fight gets too much you can litteraly just leave? Argueably, its a very flawed arena.
I dont really have a least favourite story boss, but if cernyx counts then he’s 100% up there right behind Merlot. Merlot and his murderous farts. He must be a time traveller from the 40s, that’s how he farmed the infamy.
Favorites
- Based on the challenge: Lord Elius. He basically teaches you parrying compared to the last 2 bosses, who are just jobbers.
- Based on character design/drip: Argos, his design reminds me of a Spartan with a medieval aesthetic.
- Based on loot: Calvus, self-explanatory
Least Favorite:
- Based on the challenge: Maria, aside from her invulnerability, can sometimes deaggro and will reset the boss fight.
- Based on character design: It’s very hard to hate the character designs here, but I’d go with Kai, who is just a miniboss (basically just a strong normal enemy); his cape is the biggest eyesore, but luckily he will get a remodel.
- Based on loot: Iris, her bracelet is good, especially for low levels, but will eventually get replaced by much better stuff.
General Argos has just the right amount of skill to get you low but just barely being weaker than you so you can win
Should clarify: I mean she’s the only one who you can do that to with the equipment most players would have at that level.
I like Elius a lot. While the fight is a huge spike in difficulty for new players, he is quite predictable so you can easily stratigise. Only thing I don’t like about him is the healing. I also really like Calvus for similar reasons. He’s really hard, don’t get me wrong on that, but he can be quite fun to fight especially if you’re doing it in a pair.
But on the other hand, I HATE Carina. She’s not the most difficult boss, but there is a difference between hard and annoying. Takes ages, always keep missing when I attack, and the healing drives me mad. I’m fighting her on my second file right now and I’m like, “Why do I even need to do this?!” Most of the other bosses actually contribute to the story but Carina does nothing except be Elius’ annoying older sister and be the one that tells us Calvus’ location. To add onto this it’s pretty self-explanatory that Calvus lives in an enormous castle in Rubica. So I think Carina is an annoying boss that feels like a filler because Calvus can’t be the only boss in AO’s longest chapter.
favourite boss: calvus (less stupid move overlapper)
least favourite boss(es): argos (stupid move overlapper), elius (stupid move overlapper, and falls off the island and regens all his health), captain maria (stupid move overlapper and Iframe spammer and nearly unreactable moves and easiest to cheese), the fort castrum guy (too easy and forgettable compared to the rest of the raid)
the rest are okay I guess
faorite boss is maria because she is cheesable
on the contrary, least favorite is also maria because you have to cheese her

don’t really understand why people are hating on shura/iris, both of them are inexperienced fighters so it makes sense that they aren’t a hard fight
plus they do actually pose a challenge to first time players who haven’t grasped combat yet, people are like “omg ive played this game 20 times and now i beat the first boss flawlessly!”
thats like if i say calvus is a bad fight because ive never lost to him once learning his moveset even on berserker files, they aren’t meant to be 50 attempt challenges which is the exact reason why helper ghosts are being added
Inexperienced fighters???
Shura is a FUCKING SAMURAI, a RONIN. It makes no fricking sense for him to be Inexperienced bro
Playing with the fancy new green paint he got
Maybe thats why I always hated touching paint, its just sulphuric acid
you guys won’t guess my favourite boss ever
i don’t like calvus~
he tells us he just awakened his acid magic so obviously he isnt proficient in using it, he was just throw blasts over the ocean which is why it was polluted
He said he learnt that he is able to use Acid Magic, that doesn’t make him an inexperienced Warrior. He’s still a samurai, he knows how to fight with weapons
If not, well, i’m then concerned about Ryujin Dynasty being in grave danger because it’s warriors cant even take less than a second to slash
”I’ve only recently discovered my ability to use magic, and I don’t believe I have full control over it yet.”
so clearly as a conjurer he doesn’t really have experience fighting with his acid yet, additionally a ronin is a samurai that has no lord, either because they died or because the ronin was cast away
shura may have been cast away from his master for being too weak and led a life of seclusion at the jaws, also dont think theres anything confirming hes from the ryujin dynasty other than being a samurai, and even then theres nothing confirming hes one of their warriors
really no way to tell until we meet him again and possibly get his backstory
Is this tiramisu alt or im tripping
It is speculated, Im just saying stuff relying on the information I have access to
That too is concerning, if Shura was just weak and they didn’t even try to train him properly - i’ll just assume the master died
they could have tried to train him but he was just that bad, so they either shamefully evicted him from the dojo or whatever the hell he was part of and told him to go find some real experience
but again this is just head canon at this point, i cant see any other reason for him being as weak as he is other than for gameplay purposes
