A tale about the clumsiest mage in Magius.
…
One day, Felix was outside with his parents(both of them), walking his dog, when he saw a dark wizard mugging some guy.
The dark wizard walked up to him and said:
“GIVE ME ALL YOUR CROWNS SCRUB”
So Felix punched him in the face, got shadow magic, and became the king of all magius.
Then, he started sailing… he became the king of the world!
But…
it wasn’t enough.
He sailed farther, farther out, even into space.
HE EVEN STARTED CONQERORING DIFFERENT PLANETS-
“Felix?”, said Felix’s mom.
“Felix? Are you there?”, spoke his mother, once again.
As Felix opened his eyes, his mother informed him of what happened.
“Oh, here’s how it actually went down.”
“You shouldn’t rob people of their hard earned money.” , said Felix.
Then, Felix attempted to punch the dark wizard in the face, but he thoroughly missed, broke his hand, and got shot in the face with a wind blast knocking him out. However, the contact with magic awakened him, and he accidentally shot a shadow blast at the dark wizards face as he lost conciousness, which deterred the dark wizard.
“Kid, promise me you’ll never do that again.”, said Felix’ dad.
“Sorry. I don’t even know what got into me.”, said Felix.
As they returned to Riverville that day, Felix sat in his room and tried to muster up some Shadow Magic.
To his surprise, this actually, worked, however he accidentally shot a Shadow Blast straight through the window, causing the Magic Council to briefly investigate.
“Alright, I can see that nothing suspect was going on, but you have to remember that using spells in the town is very dangerous. If your going to use your magic, do it outside of the fences.”, said the Magic Council soldier.
“Yes sir…”, said Felix, as his mother pinched his ear.
The next day, Felix decided to practice with the local prodigy, Vincent. Vincent awakened his Ice magic a month ago, and is planning to join the Magic Council and set up a post nearby the Summer Hold.
As he went downstairs, said hello to his father who was reading the newspaper, and kissed his mother on the cheek as he ate his toast and jelly with eggs, he was off to find Vincent.
“SAVE YOURSELVES! SAVE YOURSELVES! THE END IS NEAR! THE ODYSSEY APPROACHES AND WE WILL ALL BE ERASED FROM REALITY! REPENT! REPENT TO VETEX! REPENT!”, said a dark wizard. The Magic Council quickly dispatched him, and took him to a nearby camp.
“What a crazy guy.”, said Felix.
“Whoop-!”, yelped Felix as he slipped on a water puddle.
“Ouch…”, said Felix, rubbing the back of his head.
“Hey there kiddo. You alright?”, said Vincent, as he helped Felix up.
“Uh, yeah. Thanks. Actually, I was looking for you.”, said Felix. “Can you teach me how to use my magic?”
“You? And magic? Say, aren’t you that kid that accidentally blew up the mayors house?”, asked Vincent.
“I swear I didn’t mean to. How was I supposed to know that it would be a bad idea to blow a candle nearby an ash cloud?”, said Felix.
Vincent had a good, long laugh.
“Alright. Come with me, lets head to the back of the town.”, said Vincent, gesturing to the bridge that goes over the river.
…
Outside of Riverville, Felix and Vincent were stirring.
“Alright. So, from what I heard this morning, you know how to shoot off a basic blast, right?”, asked Vincent.
“Yeah, I do. But I’m being honest with you, I don’t think I can control it…”, answered Felix.
“Alright, that’s okay! Just try and shoot one off again for me.”, said Vincent.
“Really, I don’t think its a good idea… shouldn’t you teach me how to aim first?”, said Felix, cautiously.
"Come on man, what’s the WORST that could happen?', asked Vincent.
The two boys bickered for a while.
However, in the interval, something else was happening.
“Today seems like a GREAT day to sell off some weapons! Smithing sure is a mighty fine business, I sure do hafta’ say.”, said a nearby smith, who was setting up camp nearby the two boys.
“Come on Felix, just do it! We’re outside of the town, nobody could get hurt unless someone was reaaaally unlucky.”, said Vincent.
“You don’t understand, don’t you know I have a reputation for screwing everything up?”, retorted Felix.
The nearby smith put down his smithing items, and started up a small camp. He then put up a fire, and took out some display weapons for show.
“I promise if you do this one thing for me I’ll teach you the rest.”, said Vincent.
“…Fine. Don’t be mad when I say ‘I told you so’.”, said Felix. He concentrated for a while, and shot off a large blast into the direct of the nearby river.
The following occured:
The shadow blast miraculously ricocheted off of the water and towards the smith.
The smith picked up a nearby shield and blocked the shadow blast.
The force of the blast exploded the smiths camp.
As the smith shouted obscenities at the duo, it just so happened that a Magic Council patrol was walking by.
Said Magic Council patrol thought that Felix directly harmed the smith.
Calamity.
“HEY! You there! Stay were you are!”, said one of the 4 patrolling Magic Council, dashing towards Felix.
Felix, alarmed, ran out of there as fast as he could, but a giant ball of stone appeared in front of him, and he ran straight into the ball, falling butt-first onto the ground.
“What a cowardly dark wizard. Don’t want to fight back like the rest of them?”, said the Magic Council patroller.
“Hey, chill out man. It was an accident. We were just practicing out here, and when we came out here that smithy wasn’t there.”, said Vincent.
“Oh. Is that so…? Well, I’ll be keeping my eye on you two. Try anything funny and it’ll be into the slammer for both of you!”, said the Magic Council patroller, as he swaggered away.
After that, Vincent and Felix practiced deeper in the woods, away from any pathways that would cause people to get hurt. Eventually, Felix became generally skilled at using shadow magic, however he had to be extremely careful in order to not cause any extreme destruction.
Then, Vincent and Felix became both very skilled mages, popular among their peers. Felix was still a clumsy mage(even gaining a new reputation at the Silent Tower), occasionally causing chaos amongst his peers.
In fact, Felix caused quite the commotion at his Magic Council recruitment ceremony, however that will be a story for another time.
