Since I can’t post in Suggestions yet, I feel I have to post here. Sorry for the slight displacement, I just feel like it’s extremely necessary, as the currently planned spam clicking just isn’t it.
I made this (extremely bad) demonstration that hopefully helps explain what I propose. If you have ANY questions about it and I mean ANY, please comment and I’d be happy to respond. I feel this is a much-needed change and will make fishing more interactive, fun and enjoyable, as well as provide some skill to it instead of people hooking up an auto clicker at 1ms and reeling in the hardest fish in the game to do so (when it’s added) without breaking a sweat.
Clashing but with fishes, i like it. But this would make fishing take a lot longer which would be terrible. I’m afraid spam clicking is much more efficient.
Spam clicking is more efficient, yes, easily abusable, yes. Fishing shouldn’t take a few seconds, it should be some-sort of a challenge, not something that you set an auto clicker up and fire away.
Also, it does not necessarily mean fishing will take ages. An order of letters appear on your screen, you click those as fast as possible, if you make a mistake you get set back, if not you keep advancing. This would also make it so bigger and rarer fish take longer and are more of struggle, which is how it should be, and smaller fishes are easier and faster. Also, this negates all fishes being the same when using an autoclicker set to 1ms. It’s a challenge, and more interactive, with realistic results.
While this could be a really cool idea it makes fishing for a fish that’s worth like 5 crowns way more annoying. If you keep catching horrible fish over and over that take 30sec-1min+ it would get very frustrating. Especially if you’re trying to get magic weapons and if added things like sunken champion armor from AA. This would get very annoying very fast and make fishing all around take way too long. While I would like to see fishing become more interactive I also don’t want to see fishing become something that becomes even more tedious then spam clicking. Because let’s face it, after grinding for an hour if fishing was like this it would get really annoying.
TLDR: cool concept but at the same time would make fishing more annoying than it already would be because it would take longer to get what you want.
Also for people who were bad at clashing in AA, keep in mind was just Q and E, it would be extremely difficult for them if every single fish required button patterns that have more buttons than AA clashing did.
Even just making it Q and E would be find, it was just a suggestion. Also, horrible fish, like explained, will have less fighting strength which means they will be caught much quicker, in 10-15 seconds. If you hook onto gear, it will have higher fighting strength depending on the enchant and level. It could just be Q and E, or it could be a few more buttons. This is a broad suggestion that could undergo tweaks. But as explained, horrible fish would not sake 30 seconds to a minute at all, due to the fighting strength of different items and fish.
Edit: Hope that makes sense, if you have any more questions/points be sure to ask/say.
An easier solution that would prevent autoclicking is to have it alternate between time you have to click and time you shouldn’t click.
Having this would make the autoclicker auto-fail while making fishing still easy, fun, and relaxing for regular players.
Macros could be used in that instance, however, that is definetely still better than spam clicking altogether. Perhaps only having the buttons Q and E would be better, just so you can have 2 fingers on there and do it that way.
You couldn’t use a macro in an instance where it would be random times between each click…
There wouldn’t really be a way to set that up since each time you click something could pop up giving you a click timing almost like OSU(but not as complicated like a circle in the middle of the screen) or something of the sorts.
Just to make fishing more interactive but not to the point where you can’t sit there and chill.
Clarification.
This is just a broad suggestion, it can be altered and such. This is just what I see fishing should be instead of spam clicking, and here’s a few edits I might make.
Instead of having all those buttons, perhaps just Q and E like arcane clashing would be better, so it’s more overall relaxing.
For people with the concerns of horrible fish taking 30 seconds - 1 minute or more, may I remind you that ‘Fighting strength’ as a variable will negate this. Worse fish will have a much lower fighting strength, and therefore be caught much easier, in the range of 5-15 seconds. Magical gear and gear that can be obtained from fishing would have higher fighting strengths, so it’d be overall more of a challenge to get those, but less of a challenge to get horrible fish.
If you have any more concerns, please vocalize them so I can provide some clarification! I will continue to edit this comment with answers to more concerns that arise.
The varaible “fighting strength” would negate the seriousness of getting bad fish, as it’d be very easy. Also, I’d agree that perhaps Q and E would be better than a load of buttons. It’s hardly difficult to click 2 buttons in the order that they appear on your screen, so it’s not as if anyone is going to seriously struggle.
It will just make it so that bigger, more rare fish and gear are harder to fish up than smaller, more common gear/fish, as explained below.
I like the idea of not spam clicking, but rather than the letters (because I suck at those), my prefer fishing is red to green bar–hitting the space bar or left click to match the green to catch the fish. I don’t see this as being abusable especially if the green bar is at random and with space. It would also be more efficient than the letters.
It’s true that it will take a bit longer but I’d rather have people do work for it then set up a fishing macro and auto farm for the rest of the day, this will make fishing an optional way of getting money, not just an easy cash farm.
Besides, I don’t think that catching a goldfish will take longer than 10-15 seconds.
But I believe that would raise the other issue of taking longer. Also, pressing Q and E in the order they appear on your screen isn’t exactly difficult, and for smaller fishes it will take like 5-10 seconds, it only will start to get harder with the variable “fighting strength” on the bigger and rarer fishes.
Yes, small and bad fish won’t take long at all. Stuff like enchanted, high level or just in general gear you fish will put up more of a fight, aswell as big and rarer fish. So it all scales with “fighting strength” and that overall determines how much you’ll have to be trying with the combinations, and how long it will overall take.
