So: right now fishing rods have 4 stats attached to them.
Lure: Decreases the time it takes for something to be caught.
Strength: Things take less clicks to catch, and you have a higher chance at catching Giant fish.
Rarity: You have a better chance at catching higher base tier fish.
Item Chance: Increases the chances of you catching items (and also apparently has a direct effect on catching sunken items according to the Empires update patch notes)
My question: does Strength also affect the chance at catching Golden fish? It doesn’t mention anywhere explicitly if it does or not in the Trello, so I’m hoping someone more experienced than I am at this would be able to shed some light on this question. I’m currently going for Master Angler so any advice is appreciated.
fishing itself is no longer affected by luck, only the items you pull
tbf that’s still useful when i start using treasurers collectors rod to try to pull sunkens (or should I try using my ensnaring bronze instead)
when i did master angler i switched between graced and luring (i think graced overall did better) and i only used strength rod in the dark sea to farm legendary scales.
of course this was when luck affected caught fish, getting master angler now is nigh impossible
luck should roll 3 times on the fish, with one fish caught, with the following priority
massive > golden > giant > small > normal
rare > uncommon > common
this takes into account being in the dark sea since that’s the only way to catch massive
it would prioritize the first list, then the second
e.g. a massive common fish would be prioritized over a rare normal fish
Would this mean that if you were to fish for sunkens something other than an ensaring bronze rod would be more effective? Or would that be only with lower tier luck potions?
the math has been done, with pity you’re still better off with the 1/2400 the 0.8 chance and much faster catches than the abysmally slow catches and increased chance
treasurer bronze is 1.3 item chance 1.2 catch speed
2000/1.3 =~ 1540
assuming you catch a fish every 30 seconds normally 30/1.2 = 25
1540*25=38500 seconds or ~640 minutes or about 11 hours of fishing
