We were originally told flight wouldn’t be added because it would make ships obsolete. Simply said, as of right now that won’t ever be true, with ships being what allows you to carry sealeds/cargo, destroy other ships, gives access to easy bounty/fame boards, cauldrons, and cooking bowls.
Personally (I’m not sure if it’s different for other people), I’m having to tank ~430 consumption in energy just for the mandatory charge up. That’s not to mention the spell already drains energy very quickly as well. If energy could still be infinitely charged it wouldn’t be that much of an issue, but you have to consume food to keep it up, and that means using the spell even semi-often means you have to keep a lot on hand.
I’m not exactly voting for a full reversion to its original state, as I know we all saw that YouTuber with 900+ range fly from Sameria to the Nimbus Lands. I am however proposing we change its overall effect. Right now, it’s impact on energy is scaled as if it’s for long distance travel (long charge, massive energy consumption and tanking), but it’s actual efficiency is for short maneuverable travel (such as going from one end of Sameria to the next)
Since I’m sure the developers nerfed it because of the YouTube guy (or someone showing a similar example of stat-stretched travel), instead of nerfing it’s overall energy efficiency to the ground so that no one without a range-jacked stat build can reasonably use it, why not make a hard-cap of how much distance you can fly in one go?
