FOCUS REWORK

Instead of focus being pretty much a copy of magic’s aura move, it could be its own unique mechanic for fighting styles, requiring some kind of condition in order to use it for a buff/attack thats not just “10% more health/power/destruction!!”.

Focus will be a move that you would have to charge up in different ways depending on the fighting style, showing up in your move hotkeys as it slowly fills up, reaching max (and therefore, being usable) the keybind would glow like ultimate art’s text does.

Some focuses will be activated through pressing a button/doing an action or automatically when it’s ready, and would last for around 20 seconds each.

Sailor fist

Requirement: Overcharge your sailor fist by drinking seawater bottles (maybe 5 or 6) while already on max seawater energy, and then drinking one more to activate the focus. The focus counter is reset to 0 if you go below 40% seawater.

Effect: OVERFLOW: gives you max seawater energy for some time, increases your damage output (maybe size too), but makes your screen distorted (maybe like minecraft’s nausea or the best roblox alternative), and your attacks have low accuracy (instead hitting somewhere around where you aim, like how fps shooters do it).

Thermo fist

Requirement: Stay at max (maybe just over 90%) heat to charge focus. Getting hit reduces your progress and getting too low heat removes the progress entirely. You must stay above 70/80% heat while your focus is activated.

Effect: SPEEDBLITZ: At the press of your keybind, enter your focus with a short animation, you will move extremely quickly, adding a LOT to your running speed, agility and attack speed (maybe lowers size?), your attacks will apply burning DoT , and do slightly more damage. In return, you have a constant burning DoT applied to you, are constantly overheating, and your screen will be more red than normal overheating. Over time, you will cool down, and the boosts to your agility and attack speed would diminish. If you get hit at the start of your focus (i.e. while the focus animation is playing, or while your focus duration is above 70% of the meter) would launch you back, stunning you for a couple seconds and stopping your focus, later on (when under 70% of its duration) it would just drain your focus duration by a couple seconds, with no stun.

Iron leg

Requirement: Charge your energy straight for 15 total seconds at max energy without being hit, your charging becoming more and more intense over time. You dont have to do it all in one go, but not charging for a while will start draining the progress you’ve made. (not too sure about this one, alternatives maybe being taking/blocking damage?)

Effect: IRON WILL: While charging, pressing your focus keybind will result in an explosion around you and you would enter a sort of sentry/tank focus. In your focus, your attacks would gain a lot more size, clashing power, destruction, and damage. You would receive an effect akin to ironskin, greatly reducing your movement, granting you damage resistence and somewhat reducing attack speed.

Boxing

Requirement: Land hits/Deal damage without taking many hits yourself. Taking direct damage would greatly reduce your focus progress, but blocking attacks will reduce your focus by only a little bit. Parrying attacks will not drain your progress, instead keeping your focus bar protected for a couple seconds.

Effects: STAR PUNCH: As you land more combos and hits your gloves will glow more and more, and eventually reach their peak when you fully charge your focus bar. In this state, press your focus keybind to enter your star punch focus, with a startup animation. You will be protected during your animation, and for a few seconds (maybe 3-ish?) upon entering your focus. Any close range attack (like, no shot or axe slash, that might be a bit op lol) will be empowered, launching them with a LOT of knockback, stunning them for more time than usual so you can pummel them while they’re down. However, if you were to MISS your strenghtened attack, you would be stuck in extended endlag, and getting hit once your protection runs out means your focus will be cancelled.

Basic combat

Requirement: Reach red hp during a fight, or take a lot of damage during a fight (though with the latter method, the bar will slowly drain over time so you dont just go in and out of fights to charge your focus up), whichever comes first.

Effects: LAST STAND: In your (gamer) rage, pressing your focus keybind will make you go completely beserk for some time. All of your stats will get a bit of a boost, and more to your power. You would also receive some damage resistance, all in balance. However, in this focus, your vision will be red. Your screen would turn almost completely red, rendering you unable to see your surroundings, instead, the players/npcs you’re fighting would be the only thing highlighted, sort of like revealing.

Cannon fist

Requirement: As you charge your moves, and hit ranged attacks (like shots, m1, axe-slashes, etc.), your focus will slowly charge, your focus progress will not drain unless you arent in combat tag. In exchange, charging your attacks will yield less extra damage than usual (i.e. for someone without a focus move created: an uncharged shot would do 100 damage base, and a max charged one would do 150, but for someone with a focus move created, a max charged shot would do 125 [random numbers btw, but you get the idea]).

Effect: BALLER: Activating your focus will create a small effect around you as you buff your muscles and prepare your next m1. The next m1 you use will have you pull out a comically large cannonball from god knows where, with a short animation (1-2 seconds). Once you’ve got your cannonball, you will aim it with your mouse and you’ll be able to throw it after a bit of time (not instant tho, maybe another 2 seconds after you pull it out), or you can choose to charge up your throw even more by holding m1. This throw will have massively increased size, clashing power, damage, and speed depending on how much you hold m1 for. However, getting hit while you’re charging your throw will make you drop your own cannonball on your head (or maybe just make it explode), making you take some damage instead.

Credit:Niko for having the main idea and most of these focuses, I just helped him with some ideas and tweaking them.

I like the idea, but this could end up overcomplicating usin focus during combat.
