Customizable weapons :

Add new items for making custom weapons with custom colors so when you go warrior you can have a weapon that has a color aura of your preference, add new materials to the game like :

  • Molds : The molds for the weapons like a mold for the blade of a greatsword and stuff like that. This molds could be found in the common treasure chests, the molds would have different traits depending on the shape, like a small mold would have less range on m1s but more damage or a large on the opposite, this shapes would also be great for people who want their custom weapons like if someone really likes the argos axe but doesn’t like that is bronze this weapons would fix the problem.

  • Mineral bars : Mineral bars or ores where you can go to a new npc (or just the blacksmith) and forge this materials with the molds so you can craft custom weapons, this would be found around the world in different areas so exploration would be something even more important, and also be sold by a “material seller” like the one from wom, this could be very good for the arcanium weapons so there can be “arcanium bars” that act the same way that lesser rams and cannons work, this materials would have a level requirement like you can’t use a weapon that has a level 100+ material and the level of this weapons would be determined by the material with the highest level, this materials will also change different stats of the weapon like titanium would be very heavy so it would make more damage but be slower

  • Misc materials like different types woods, rocks and maybe even diferent gems for the handle of the weapons or decoration of the swords

All of this things would be highly customizable like names and that stuff so warriors aren’t left out on the customization thing of magics and fighting styles, normal weapons you find would be still in the game so new players or can still get weapons without needing to do this

Also maybe when the profesions come out one could be a forger so you get bonuses when making weapons

BRO WHAT THE HELL, i literally came up with the SAME idea, like i have a whole document about this EXACT idea. In fact, it was the one that i used to get the suggestor role.
That says how much it is needed.

(This is the idea btw if you wanna read it)

Weapon Forging/Customization

TL;DR: A new type of npc that allows players to edit and create(?) weapons with materials you could find through exploring or through salvaging other weapons/items. Customizing weapons would give them certain modified stats and attributes depending on the materials used and depending on the forging level of the player. Players could also change things like the name of the weapon and the weapon’s keybinds.

The general idea is to add more in-depth customization to the weapons route since I feel like it’s lacking in comparison to the other routes (except vitality lol), while still maintaining some uniqueness and being completely optional. It would also help in adding extra replayability since I know it’s one of Vetex’s focuses on this game.

To edit a weapon you would first have to find a special smith npc that would be found mostly on towns or remote islands (just like fighting style mentors). Once found and talked to, it would open up an UI telling you to select what type of weapon you want to edit, the weapon types available would depend on the smith npc. Once you select the weapon you wish to edit, it would show all the weapon’s parts (the amount and type of parts would all depend on the weapon selected), then you would select a specific weapon part you wish to edit and then select the material to use on that specific part, depending on the material used it would have varying effects on the quality(?) and attributes of the weapon (for example, if you use a heavy metal for the blade, it would increase the damage slightly but decrease the speed, or if you use something like copper then the weapon would have more affinity with electricity-like effects making its interactions stronger whilst reducing overall damage). Once you finish editing the weapon, it would let you choose a name for it and give you an option to swap keybinds.

The materials for the weapons could be obtained in a variety of ways, such as in chests, through mining with a pickaxe on certain islands or through salvaging other weapons/armors (Maybe salvaging could be done through an npc too).

When player professions are added this could very much work as a profession or maybe have a mastery level like cooking which could make you use less materials when forging or maybe make the weapon have a higher starting level, and so on.

This could be added in addition to weapon mastery, which could work like FStyle mastery works, to further incentivise the player to upgrade and edit their weapons rather than just changing them, they would still be changed at some point but not nearly as much.

Overall I feel like it could be a great addition if done right (although it is a lot of work) and that it really fits the general idea of the game.

Side note: I didn’t want the idea to be too disruptive for the general vibe of the game so I decided to cut some more crazy stuff out, but this idea could be expanded a lot more.

It always bugged me how bad crafting systems are in games, just in general. Either its tedious or boring or obsolete. Something like this would be interesting and fun to play with, and it would offer something to everyone. A rare gem from, say, a legendary treasure chart could be a power-booster in a warrior’s weapon, an energy focus for a spellcaster, the core of an amulet or armor piece for anyone else.

I also think it would be fun if you could add custom flavor text for custom weapons, to make it truly feel like your own, you know.

Really cool idea that will give weapon builds more customization. Some worries:

  • Arcanium is meant to be rare and letting people just buy it from a vendor is too much. Though arcanium has barely been fleshed out and idk when it will become common in progression.
  • This might be weird when combined with boss weapons. I think it will still be fine, however boss weapons might need a rework.

Being able to customize the abilities on your weapons might be good enough though. Also, gem crafting is planned which will help with customization.

I love this suggestion, weapon users have zero customization and it really shows compared to magics and fstyles

so i do want customisation with weapons, but this thing seems way too complicated for its own good

if you want any chance for weapon customisation to become a thing, we gotta start small. being able to change the name of your weapon skills and maybe their color at a blacksmith is more than enough, without needing to spend a month on a crafting system and on designing weapon models and textures and whatever for every combo

big suggestions are nice to dream about but they are rarely realistic. thats just my take on it tho, you can always hope

i meant only normal materials like steel or even titanium at high levels

ik but i was talking in a far future when vetex finishes all things he wants to add right now

just call it recast or something
put in the weapon you like for it’s stats but dislike the look

then to change the look:

put in the mold
put in materials
put in other items

so it would be a boss item but looks different

aka you got the new boss ax or something
you like the stats (+999 power) but it’s red you going for a blue look
so you recast it so you toss it in a mold put in blue metal and a gem for vanity
now you have a blue ax or something with +999 power

I think the vendor should still sell arcanium, but only in small chunks at a high cost. You can combine the chunks with different metals so you can make lesser arcanium.

I don’t think the suggestion implies that vendors sell arcanium. Vendors don’t sell things beyond basic armors and ammos, so why would they sell beyond basic materials?

Vendors would likely stock low-level materials like wood, stone, bronze, and iron.

They do mention arcanium bars. While I probably should have assumed that it would be a late game thing, they also mention that it is a level 100+ material which is quite low.
