As it is, Fort Castrum is pretty darned frustrating. An absolute inundation of enemies swarming you, the amount of spells and attacks causes some unavoidable frame drops. That’s not bad on its own, but our first few runs ended because on wave 3-4, the last enemy was just like, lost somewhere. It would be nice if the remaining enemies were highlighted or revealed for everyone on the fort.
The problem above all is the resets. Right now its unfortunately common to be taking your time to combat a wave only for it to totally reset. The difficulty itself is a bit… extra. Like, just the sheer amount of high level enemies is ridiculous. Really hope its toned down over the next few patches.
(This of course, factors in parties of players beyond 3, but that is what I thought it was intended for)

I just tried castrum and there were like 6 other people there, EACH enemy was like level 200 and i could not see a thing from all the attacks… it was glorious
i thought terrain destruction would’ve been off for castrum tbh
it would be good if it was, just saying
makes the fighting place much cleaner, especially since you’ll probably be fighting for a while and the terrain will be a mess
Render distance won’t matter much since it’s all effects being rendered really close to you anyways.
Unless you meant minimum graphics, but even then if a lot of destruction is going on it’ll cause a lot of lag. I imagine destruction stuff is more taxing on the CPU than the GPU.
after trying a few more times, the scaling of difficulty for multiple players is completely busted… we were struggling to get past wave 4, let alone getting to wave 10
I haven’t even managed to get past wave 1 on the first try
cause like, 1 dude decided to dip and didn’t show up, there were like 2-3 of us there looking for em, we killed the others in no time, but that 1 enemy was just nowhere to be found
We were destroying things, scouring the entire island, checking the waters around the island
that was wave 1 and we already couldn’t find someone, imagine not being able to find someone on the final wave which probably has way more enemies
Also the moment i began to approach em, the very first cannons that hit me were chainshot i think, cause i was slow as hell+insane lag from all the cannons firing.
My ship lost 8k hp just trying to leave when i barely got there, had to wait for someone else to take the place down before i came back to fight on foot for wave 1 when the lag was not nearly as bad
Alright, first run finished with three + one people
Tips:
Bum rush with all your squad to take down defense OR snipe from a distance w/howitzers
You need AOE cuz theres a ton of guys
Probably bring revealing because each wave has at least one guy who gets stuck in a wall
Ration your HP

Way too long, holy shit. Seeing the boss made it all worth it though, heat magic is sexy
Got absolutely nothing of value, a flat galleon reward of like 2.5k would be nice
