Hello, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but I was not able to find anywhere better. I have been trying to lower my footprint on the internet and my AO forum account is the first thing that pops up for “Tellurian13”. I was wondering if changing my name on here would remove that from search results or if it would stay because search engines are weird. Would you know of any other way to get it off the search results? Thank you in advance.
changing your name would probably fix it because by changing your name every @you also changes and all topics made by you change their owner to whatever your new name is.

I changed it, but it’s still not guaranteed to remove you from search results. I tested with a few previous usernames of forumers who changed them and they still show up.
It’s probably because search engines don’t crawl the forum that often so the cached index with the old username is kept for a long time. No expert in that stuff, but it explains what I observed and makes sense to me.
If you want to go dark that badly trying to remove what’s already there is probably the hard way. Once it’s on the internet, it stays on the internet, that sort of stuff. You could maybe make new accounts for the things you intend to keep using and somehow reconnect to the people/things you really need and ditch the rest.
