It’s a prism of endless possibility, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know.
I am Syk. I am your guide through these vast new realities.
Follow me, and ponder the question:
What if…?
Okay so chances are you’ve heard of the Forum Curses roleplay series by @Randomness. This is a writing project of mine based on that series. Suggest something, one thing, that would change about the timeline. Something tiny and insignificant. I will then write a short story immediately following that change and present it here. FC2A events to change are preferable but I can do research on the other games if I HAVE to.
“We’re getting increasingly bored,” said Ladnas to Max over the phone. He, Apolo, Collin, and Ray were waiting in a field for the Horse to come by, yet nothing was happening. “Calypso has been stationary for at least eight hours and there’s still no sign of it on her end. Do you know where it is?”
Max, still keeping a watchful eye out, attempted to use his Curse, the Epithet of Truth, to locate it. “I think it’s in Hermes. Calypso?”
“Yeah?”
“Be on your guard, the Horse is in your district.”
Calypso took a look, and there it was - an equine form ravaging the district. “Horse is here. I’ll talk in a bit.”
Calypso leaped down from her lookout point, and, despite knowing she wouldn’t be able to win this fight and not even intending to, went on the offensive. “Hey, you!” she yelled. “You can mess with me, you can mess with my friends, you can destroy the world. But your biggest crime, that I won’t forgive, was letting that ink stain grow and saying NOTHING!”
Calypso sent a blast of ink at the horse, landing it right in the eyes. The Horse, clearly in shock, veered off course and was now traveling in the direction of a Headless Inquisition convoy.
The one her friends were at. “Heads up, guys.”
Twenty minutes later…
“And, that’s checkmate,” said Apolo for the fourteenth time.
“Dammit, how are you this good?” Ray asked, shocked.
“Would you two keep it down?” snapped Ladnas. “Sorry, say that again, Calypso?”
“The Horse is probably about to be there. I just spoke with Max and he said it was very close. Be on the lookout.”
“Thanks. Over and out.” He switched off the phone and turned to his friends. “Alright, Apolo, put away that chess set. The Horse is nearly-”
BANG.
Something crashed to the ground near them. The four looked over and saw the Horse had fallen on the soapy water and grease. Collin, wasting no time, chained it down, and Apolo and Ladnas set a barrier as Ray and Collin began striking.
“Ladnas to all. Horse contained. Meet at the field near the border between Nyx and Hermes. This.”
“Ends,” said Apolo.
“Now,” responded every. Single. One of them.
What if Epimetheus realized he’s powerful enough to stop the war before it happened a.k.a. out of hindsight?
He slaps his brother and Zeus, throws Arthur’s aurem into the outer universe, curses are never created, everybody lives happily.
