TAITC, The God of Sodium and Reference-mancy
Playstyle:
TAITC, wielder of a magical book known as the “Book of Trope-lial” that can briefly summon characters from random pieces of media is a bait and punish-focused character who focuses on spacing and capitalizes off of their opponent’s mistakes and boasts a few puppet mechanics that are essential to their combos, making them one of the harder characters to learn but also rewarding to master.
Gimmick: Cultured
By dealing damage or taunting, TAITC can build up to 5 stacks, which will be displayed on the HUD. By using Neutral Special, TAITC will use up one of the stacks and allow their next attack to be enhanced, which can change the move in multiple ways, but usually just increases their damage, range and startup time.
Jab - Summons a random humanoid stand from JoJo’s, out of the Book of Trope-lial, to punch twice before Punch Rushing forwards. TAITC is usually stationary during this attack, but if the move is activated while in enhanced state, the Stand will be summoned and autonomously stand rush forwards by itself for 5 seconds, allowing for a tandem with another move.
Forward Tilt - TAITC summons Franziska von Karma from Ace Attorney who straight-up just whips the opponent. A fairly lengthy poke. When enhanced, range is shortened and now there are 2 more whip strikes to the attack, dealing strong damage.
Down Tilt - One of the only moves in TAITC’s kit that doesn’t use the Book of Trope-ial. TAITC pulls out a kris knife and slashes at the opponent’s feet. Cannot be enhanced. Builds stacks faster than other attacks.
Up Tilt - TAITC summons the Postal Dude, who throws his petition into the air. When this attack is enhanced, instead of throwing the petition, Postal Dude sprays the air above with an AR.
Dash Attack - TAITC continues running as they summon Mega Man X, in his Ultimate Armor, who proceeds to perform a Nova Strike forwards, knocking away opponents. When enhanced, the Nova Strike does multiple hits before the knock away, dealing massive damage.
Neutral Air - TAITC summons The Batter from OFF who will have the Add-Ons Alpha, Omega and Epsilon circling around him, damaging anyone nearby. When enhanced, all Add-Ons will increase exponentially in size, making the AOE larger.
Forward Air - TAITC summons Y.V. (Yung Venuz) from Nuclear Throne and Gun Godz to shoot out 6 shots from his golden revolver forwards. When enhanced, this attack acts similarly to TAITC’s jab, where Y.V. will be summoned and then autonomously rapid fire his golden revolver forwards for 5 seconds allowing for a tandem.
Back Air - TAITC summons Tainted Azazel from The Binding of Isaac behind them as Azazel performs a Hemoptysis sneeze backwards. Turns into a long ranged brimstone beam when enhanced.
Up Air - TAITC summons Marco Rossi from Metal Slug to throw a stick grenade upwards, exploding on contact with an opponent or surface. When enhanced, TAITC will instead summon a SV-001 Metal Slug, which will launch a high explosive shell which creates a large explosion in impact with a surface or opponent.
Down Air - TAITC summons Yun from Street Fighter to perform a Dive Kick downwards. That’s it. Granted, it’s a strong dive kick, but still. Enhance applies meteor to it.
Forward Smash - TAITC summons The Bullet from Enter the Gungeon, wielding the Casey. The Bullet will wind up a strike from the Casey bat for as long as the smash attack is charged before swinging it forwards. Great kill potential. When enhanced, the attack will release a spread of 6 nails as a projectile, dealing extra damage.
Up Smash - TAITC summons the Soldier from TF2 before clinging onto him for dear life as The Soldier Rocket Jumps into the air, damaging nearby opponents and sending them both into the air. When enhanced, while rocket jumping, Soldier will pull out a Market Gardener and when an opponent makes contact with him, they will be meteored into the ground.
Down Smash - TAITC summons Barry Steakfries from Jetpack Joyride to fly into the air using the Machine Gun Jetpack and peppers the ground with bullets. When enhanced, Barry will start autonomously spraying the ground with bullets freely of TAITC’s control for 5 minutes, allowing for a tandem.
Neutral Special - TAITC opens up the Book of Trope-lial and briefly reads it. Lose a stack and activate the Cultured Passive. Next attack will be enhanced.
Side Special - TAITC summons Gintoki Sakata from Gintama, who will throw a Justaway doll forwards, which explodes on impact with a surface or opponent. When enhanced, instead of just one Justaway doll thrown, Gintoki will throw out 3 at the same time.
Up Special - TAITC summons King Dedede from Kirby behind themselves. Dedede will then proceed to use his hammer to smash TAITC and anyone in range of the hammer swing into the air as a recovery. If enhanced, the move becomes even stronger, launches higher, and Dedede will be sporting his mask and modified hammer.
Down Special - TAITC summons a Wobbuffet from Pokemon in front of themselves and cowers behind it. Damage dealt to TAITC and Wobbuffet will be countered back at the opponent dealing twice the damage. When enhanced, instead of using Counter, Wobbuffet instead uses Mirror Coat, allowing it to reflect even ultimates.
Ultimate: Simon’s Book
TAITC throws the Book of Trope-lial at the opponent. If the book successfully hits the opponent, it will suck them inside. Then, a cutscene will play of the opponent in a dark room. From out of the shadows, a twisted and blood-covered version of TAITC will emerge holding a book. Book TAITC will then open the book and reveal it’s contents to the opponent, revealing it to be Simon Henriksson’s book from Cry of Fear. The book will then shoot flames out of it’s center, engulfing the opponent in fire and dealing massive damage, as well as shooting them out of the Book of Trope-lial.
