Forums explain their annoyances

I can relate, being nothing more to your family than a conversation starter and them acting like you’re timmy from south park is the worst feeling

I don’t have to deal with this issue much anymore, but RICH PEOPLE HAVING PARTIES! It’s not something that happened every single day, but every now and then there would be this huge party and you can hear music blasting two streets away. The lights on the streets are pretty, but imagine being a worker and being out in the scorching heat and humidity hanging up fairy lights in the whole street only for it to be taken down in like two days. The parties themselves are really loud and annoying. My dad’s colleague even went to complain to a rich guy partying on the roof of his apartment. He told him about health problems and he replied with “Does this look like a medical house?” Oh my God these people are so ENTITLED! Not to mention the fireworks. The fucking fireworks. I get it if it’s a national or religious holiday, but if it’s for a wedding or birthday party it’s just so extra. It also ignores the fact that people have kids, pets, health problems, and a need to sleep! At least now I can fall asleep to birds and crickets instead of thinking a war has broken out.

Sorry for the text wall but I wanted to get this out of me. Fuck rich people.

Idea: throw skunk spray into their garden

Oh YES! Wastes the host’s money, saves the guests’ time. Weddings are not very fun anyway.

Imagine being in the middle of taking your vows, a moment that (for some) is quite literally once-in-a-lifetime, only for someone to skunk your wedding :sob:

“Ugh kids these days! Can’t handle explosions so they resort to skunk spray!”

I’m 80% sure in many places it is illegal to launch fireworks outside of recognized holidays. Why?

Because they can sound like damn gunshots.

Also, making that much noise is pathetic and needy. Fully agree that these people should not be allowed to do any of this.

I’d do it for free as my last act on this earth

It is illegal where I used to live, but I kept hearing them anyway. I suppose these kinds of people need to be the centre of attention to show off their wealth.

I swear, there comes a point where you earn so much money you begin stuffing your head with it to replace your brains…

I was genuinely starting to worry when my dad started defending billionaires like Elon Musk and supporting colonialism, and I can’t help but think that the money caused this. He also never mentioned having an issue with these parties compared to me. Whereas me, my mum, and my sister constantly raised this issue. And I really don’t buy into the “colonialism increased development,” talk. And when I talk about all the shit that billionaires do to the environment and society I’m met with, “Well they donate.” I don’t think he’s too far gone, but I try not to be too out of touch with reality, even if it means calling myself out.

Honestly that’s ridiculous. Colonialism literally decreased the development of victim countries and if we look at the U.K. whom yes, are a first world country by the logic of “colonialism is good” and we’re talking about the country that was KNOWN for being the most imperialistic we look at it now and see it’s a small island country divided with internal conflicts and an incredibly struggling healthcare system and economy.

The only place billionares “donate” is to a private hedge fund or lockheed martin.

i like to debate the non controversial topic of religion and OH MY GOD can people stop using fallacies as arguments, or learn some God damn philosophy or theology, every single argument kindly ignored or strawmaned, God have mercy on u if u dare to point out that their understanding of an argument or world doesnt align with reality cause they will keep crying the appeal to authority fallacy as a last resort, just today i pointed go 8 books and studies just for them to be kindly ignored, like i have so many dumb answers saved

I WISH. Over here, I hear fireworks go off a good two weeks before and after certain holidays.

same here, as a person who owns a dog too it’s not just the fact it’s excessive it’s just downright irritating

when she spends the better part of two months telling you that you’re the most perfect man alive and that she loves you so much and then hits you with the “im just not ready for a relationship rn”

Or worse, they have no argument at all! I have never debated religion but in every single debate I’ve done, when I counter their claim they just change it. The motte-and-bailey fallacy is so annoying and it’s just not a debate anymore.

i got so many interesting replies

“ur books are wrong”

“if god is omnipotent why doesnt he punch me?”

“ur an atheist bc u dont believe in zeus”

“ancient people understood the bible bc it was written with their culture so its false”

this one i cant even qoute due to how long is but he bassically he was offended that i said that new age dont come in good faith, apparently he doesnt kmow what coming in good faith means and he thought that i expected everyone to debate to become christians

I’m an atheist but I have to say that these are the stupidest arguments I’ve ever seen.

How is this relevant? It does nothing to prove their point or refute yours. Maybe they should engage in a debate with someone who does.

That basically implies that everything that your culture tells you is false.

man dont worry, im talking about new age atheist, they are fundamentally different than atheism, only common thing is the atheistic part
