NVM, just learned about the French defense plan they were planning for Belgium to be attacked and would resort to WW1 trench warfare tactics. I can see where everyone is coming from
The belief that everything is either good or evil with no in between, because people with that belief tend to see everything that’s different as against them. People who grow up with this worldview will either end up teaching it and perpetuating the cycle or later on realize that its flawed may have a hard time un-learning this view they were taught from when they are little.

I have this worldview myself and agree it makes things fucking miserable. One of many things I’m tryna improve about myself actually, but it’s really difficult

is that actually something difficult to get out of? I feel like if you notice yourself doing that it should be somewhat simply in idea to get out of.
Personally I always assume that there is always a very small chance that everything I believe in is a lie and it could totally be the opposite and it personally helps me listen to others.

I’ll be honest I typed a text wall of things you could do but I realized that I really don’t know you that much so idk how I could suggest ways that would help you directly.
I think what I can say is that if would be a good idea to try to imagine why people think in a certain way. A majority of people say things not because they have evil intentions but they genuinely think they have the correct or right belief/idea.
While this is Deep thinker skill it could prove useful if you try to focus on “Why this person thinks this way” instead of directly getting into a conversation with them as a opposing side or avoiding them all together.
