I was going to argue that Vetex just doesn’t want to give much love to random npcs that show up once in the entire game, but then i realized that the main characters also lack any traits…

The more I read this post the more I just felt disappointed with how little the characters were fleshed out or even explored at all 
like damn we need community s̶c̶h̶i̶z̶o̶p̶o̶s̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ headcannons in order to get attached to our main characters

I imagine the “headcanon” from the author/creator of the game and story holds more weight than anyone else’s headcanon

But you fail to account for how frustrated we all are with some of Vetex’s ideas and retcons.
Your frustration does not make your headcanons more true. Specifically in this regard though, Vetex will probably not change his mind on this. Hermes calling it “Vetex’ headcannon” isn’t something I agree with either, since it’s not really headcanon if Vetex, the author/creator, says the cast is straight. Since that’s part of Vetex’s vision of the characters which determines how he’ll use them in the story. I get the frustrations with the rest of the story being subject to changes whenever Vetex feels like it though.
It’s half a joke man. Also I have other reasons to devalue the lore than “waah morden is str8”. Vetex WILL not change his mind on this, it’s just a funny play on words for cope.

i dont think any characters in ao should be anything other than straight, just because vetex doesnt seem like the type of guy to be able to write them well

You’re all missing the point. While the topic is used as an example since it’s related to this discussion. The point I was making is that Vetex’s word takes precedent over most if not all things. I might think it’s a little weird to be projecting this sort of thing onto fictional characters, but ultimately it doesn’t really matter. Let me make this abundantly clear, Vetex’s “headcanon” isn’t really headcanon since he is the original source. Is he a reliable source? Maybe not in some ways, but he is the ultimate authority. He should obviously as the author/creator be more consistent, and hopefully he is for the remainder of AO. However, a lot of the old lore was from AA when he was a newbie dev and still in school, so I can see why he retconned and redid a bunch of stuff.
Let’s assume he did want to add say… someone gay, right? I don’t think it should be handled any different than say, Dion from FF16. Bro was gay, but that didn’t define him, that was just a characteristic of him. At the end of the day, what we focused on wasn’t that he was gay, it was that he was this prince with the cool eikon. He’s gay for anyone who cares, but ultimately most people don’t really think about that later in the story when he does this.

and no, vetex never explicitly said the girl was from skyhall or a princess or anything. it all just mandela effect y’all
just because she is likely to be one, does not make it canon. if vetex is not even a reliable source

I remember having this discussion with a few people on the miraheze discord server a while ago and I said something similar to you, which I largely agree with, someone can be gay and it doesnt have to define their character at all
