Being the pikmin fan I am i got this sudden idea to ask the forums what the best pikmin type is to them
assuming you’ve played this collection of jewels yourself. All of the games, excluding one, are jewels.
So without further ado…
Best pikmin color/type?
- Red Pikmin
- Yellow Pikmin
- Blue Pikmin
- White Pikmin
- Purple Piikmin
- Bulbmin
- Rock Pikmin
- Winged Pikmin
- Ice Pikmin
- Glow Pikmin

And descriptions for all of them because why not.
Red Pikmin
- Fierce Warriors, these deal more damage than most other pikmin types.
- Fireproofing, these pikmin are resistant to fires.
Yellow Pikmin
- Shockproof, these guys are resistant to electrical enemies and hazards.
- Lightweight, these pikmin can be thrown on a higher arc than other pikmin types.
- They’re also fast diggers.
Blue Pikmin
- Fishmen, these pikmin can swim go into and beneath water, whereas most other pikmin types aren’t able to.
Unfortunately, that’s their only unique trait.
White Pikmin
- Poisonous, these pikmin can’t be hermed by poisonous enemies or hazards and deal damage back to non-poisonous enemies who eat them.
- Wily, these pikmin are quick on their feet and transport items they carry back to bases faster than the other pikmin colors.
- in pikmin 2 exclusively, they were the only pikmin that could see buried treasures. Not exclusive to 2, they are also weaker than other types.
Purple Pikmin
- Strength, these pikmin can carry any item that is 10 times their weight and deal doubled damage to any enemies.
- Weight, these pikmin are 10x heavier than other pikmin types. Because of this, they slam down with a powerful gravitational wave that harms all enemies in a radius. In pikmin 2, their gravitational waves could paralyze enemies.
Unlike reds, purples have no elemental resistances.
Blubmin
- Immunity, these ‘pikmin’ can resist all four elemental hazards.
- Cave-dwellers, these pikmin could only be found in, and can’t leave caves.
- these pikmin only existed in pikmin 2. since then, they’ve been retconned from the series.
Rock Pikmin
- Hard-bodied, these pikmin aren’t able to be pierced or crushed by creatures. They can still be crushed on hard surfaces, and can be chewed up still.
Rock pikmin attack by lunging at their enemies to inflict damage instead of sticking to them and repeatedly bashing them.
Winged Pikmin
- As their name suggests, they can fly. This allows them to take more efficient shortcuts when transporting objects they’re assigned to.
- they lack offensive power like the whites, sadly.
Ice Pikmin

- Cold-bodied, these pikmin are immune to ice-related hazards and can chill enemies who they attack.
- Enemies who are chilled enough can be frozen into ice sculptures, and they can eventually shatter brutally into helpful objects like nectars and ultra-spicy-essence.
- They also float on water, which allows them to freeze bodies of water and enemies in them. If thrown off balance, however, they will begin to drown.
Glow Pikmin
- Image sums up most of their traits well: immune to all hazards, but can only work during the night or in caves.
- They can also be commanded to meld together into a gigantic green glowing mass, this move is known as a glowmob. This move stuns enemies whom are inside the light explosion. the more, the merrier and more glow pikmin make the stun longer.
