you would be driving(operating) with an instructor during the learning sessions
so yes
most if not all robot vacuum cleaners use AI, programming would only allow them to follow pre-set paths, an AI would be needed for it to recognize spills and walls so that it doesnt constantly drive into one endlessly

Following preset paths is pretty much what mine does afaik
It uses sensors to map the downstairs and makes a path
If it detects an obstruction it’ll figure out a way around it
It sounds slightly intelligent… we must smash it with a baseball bat until it cannot move anymore…
