He wasn’t trying to kill everyone, that was not the goal. He was lashing out at the society that refused to accept the sea people, so he decided they don’t get a choice anymore, he went after the things keeping the sky people separated from the sea. The poison exacerbated his emotions, kept him too angry to stop, he felt they would never change unless forced to, and the only way to do that was to force them to deal with the sea.
I think that an attack that harms certain people and heals others would be pretty difficult to perform, if it is at all possible.
So we proved he wasn’t blindly enraged. Because this is a deep thought. And we know mage skin doesn’t take your wits so he’s still aware the sky islands falling = death. So he willingly and knowingly was going commit genocide. Grief doesn’t excuse this. People loves one die it sad and tragic it’s no excuse for genocide.
If only he had healing fire that he could blast to heal his wife and confuse the capture since the fire did nothing then grab him burning him alive… if only
Now that I think about it, if Allanon had Magic (a Lost Spirit Mutation, no less), why didn’t he just use a Self-Explosion after seeing Liara get killed? Sure, he might’ve been worried about it killing Liara, but with how Magic is apparently dependent on the caster’s intent, he probably could’ve avoided hurting her or the houses near where she got stabbed.
He could’ve avoided everything. If he had fire magic that mutated from her death that would better explain why he did nothing and actually show the personal weight and cost of obtaining a lost magic
Or have them attacked at night. They don’t live together. She could easily be dead by the time they find her and then allanon could blame us as part of it as mysterious stranger shows up a few days later assassination? Weird. Then have him not attack the whole island but the racist nobles. We stop him he blames us we say we don’t he calls us a liar. Fight happens.
Neither is perfect but it’s better then him doing nothing
There was nothing Allanon could do to heal her, it was already too late, she was poisoned. Allanon is only still alive himself because of his self healing ability. At best he could postpone his wife’s fate, but eventually, NO MATTER WHAT, the poison with NO CURE would take the life of his wife.
Yup, that’s what the potion does, it makes the afflicted person more prone to rage, and makes anger stronger and less controllable. Without the influence of the potion Allanon would be murderous at worst, and still would’ve been able to be reasoned with. However, since his anger was made worse by the potion, his judgement became more clouded, and his anger obviously became, y’know, stronger to an unnatural degree
I mean maybe, but keeping oneself alive through healing is much easier than keeping another person alive through healing, as the person doing the healing is always with themselves, whereas the person being healed will not always be with the healer, nor will the healer always be conscious (Hint: Allanon was not conscious when his wife succumbed to the poison). It would take a lot more active effort I guess is what I’m saying.
Incorrect. It makes you more prone to anger yes but it was stated to not make you blood thirsty or violent and you keep your wits. Allanon also tried absolutely nothing to save his fiance. He didn’t fly over at high speeds, no fire, nothing. He ran over and got shanked.
Yeah. Him attacking his brother? Valid (I would have done it without the poison if I thought he killed her tbf). Going to target the chains that will kill everyone not so much. The people he wanted alive would have died like his sis
I think having the assassination at that night instead, allanon blaming the vc as a suspect, and going to attack a racist noble blaming them for allowing Society to be the way it is, and not going to nuke the sky would of made that section of the story feel better and not a complete 0>100. Though that’s just my quick thought it’s by no far amazing
