Nooooo, its really just a revamp for awakening selection (and savant).
Now you don’t have to be SUPER careful about what build you have going to poseidon, risking getting stuck in a build you don’t want. Instead, you just pick something relevant to your stats and wham bam, you’re set in your class.
Which is a huge change to class builds, no? The Mistral update gave us a free stat reset because it changed vitality hybrids’ awakening, meanwhile, this technically changes it for all hybrids.

This feels like something that will lead to some regarded builds later down the line
Basically making all hybrids into better savants.
Why? Because that means that you can stack synergies like a savant with two magics/fighting styles, weapons/relics, and deal more damage due to having higher stats.
This is without mentioning the changes to weapon skills now having weapon quality requirements, making savants officially dead unless their new awakening is cracked
trello did a pretty bad job at explaining it but thankfully vetex cleared it up in patreon chat, it just gives you a last second chance to change your build before awakening if you have enough stats invested into it
for example, paladins will be able to choose to switch to oracle or mage for their awakening, or stay as a paladin
That explains a lot of things then, but I’d argue that it’s counter-intuitive to players.
If I specced into the warlock class, got through calvus with it, then found out that I could use another’s awakening for no cost… I’d be surprised to see that my stats have now been changed.

Ah, for a second I thought this was going to be some stupid shit like a ‘berserker’ (with juggernaut allocation) having access to two style slots along with spirit moves

Also did we consider the possibility of these being the first artisan weapons we come across ? They’re not steel weapons as we saw what these would look like and so clearly they’re not that, so it’s almost guaranteed to be the skyhall set of weapons, and if it is, I feel like that’s as good a time as ever to start introducing this concept
