Full Release Update Patch Notes (Discussion Thread)

Skyhall has a lot of mages? Since when?

Simply an assumption that carried over from Cerulea’s existence and the mystical nature of living up in the sky

Cerulea had a lot of mages?

yeah, they had the “pure-blooded mages”

Yeah that checks out

You’ve brought me the realization that the Ceruleans are canonically inbred.

Is this not counting Calvus using iron leg(albeit barely)?

Calvus doesn’t count, he uses iron leg in like, two attacks at most.
If we get a boss using a fighting style who doesn’t kind of just have it and not really use it, THEN we’ll talk.

there was that quartermaster in the forest of masts who used sailor fist and ash magic

Okay but you have to be the only person who remembered that fella’s loadout.
Neither of them even got names.

hes not counting revon either who uses brute strength

the other guy used light and crystal magic

Calling it now, a future miniboss will be a Samerian native who uses upgraded Thermo Fist. It makes sense lore-wise, given the fighting style’s origins.

But then apparently Cirrus island apparently hasn’t had a mage in generations (excepting those who snow :snow_magic: )

Could be skyhall has no magic whatsoever

Mizeria’s description mentions specifically magic energy in the description, so I doubt it would be a fighting style tbh. The style part moreso refers to how she makes herself identified, like a calling card of sorts.

Warlock.

That’s totally fair, I was just wanted to make sure he wasn’t forgotten here. I wouldn’t totally count out the possibility of a skyhall boss being a warlock though. That or Skyhall isn’t actually entirely the same as Cerulea and isn’t strictly mages. Though while I do disagree with a lot of the story in AO being direct parallels to AA aside from like the prologue, I can definitely agree so far Skyhall sounds pretty similar to Cerulea with it’s whole isolationist sky island thing that hates sea dwellers.

While it is possible that they’re a warlock, my point is that this probably isn’t a fighting style, and is likely a magic attack instead. I’m leaning more towards conjurer/mage for her if anything.

Though on the topic of lost fighting styles, we still don’t know how Vetex intends to have them work. My assumption is that he overlooked it wasn’t part of the lore doc update like the hecate shards were, either that or he has something else in mind. I doubt it is the scroll system still for lost fighting styles though.
