I was the one helping and I think there are quite a lot of clans in the game.
I believe there are ways to make it funny and players are in power to do that themselves (I had examples in my first message). But I agree, that Dark Sea is a boring place in most of the situations cuz it is not finished just like plenty of other mechanics.
I read, but I do not understand why you cannot make it a side-goal. Just chill with someone in the Dark Sea and you will eventually find it. The more you are obsessed with the idea of getting it, the harder it is for you to keep yourself going for it.
Maybe there is something more I am missing, since I never was at your place at all. So yeah, thats all I can tell for now with given information.
How many of those clans have enough people that are both active and willing to help?
If you have to actively distract yourself from the game to enjoy the game then you are not enjoying the game. You are enjoying whatever you’re distracting yourself with.

Because it was my primary goal and the only thing I wanted out of the dark sea from the second the essence update dropped. If it wasn’t my primary goal in the dark sea there’s no situation where I’d ever find it because what on earth would I be doing in the far reaches otherwise?
I had literally been waiting for it since AO released, that’s not a side goal.
Uhh, you know, its all up to you now. I have told you about my experience just in case if its may help you somehow. Gave you some kind of diversity of thoughts and situations. Maybe you will find an active clan and get fun from the ingame events on your path or just change your prioritizing about essence. Idk what more to say, take some rest from the game to regain your interest and hopes in finding hecate. Its should help you more than trying to change Vetex’s mind.
No, I’m less confident in the future of the game because we have to fight vetex for a whole fucking year every single time he has a bad idea (he has bad ideas constantly like anyone else).
Are you judging vetex’s decisionmaking based on one bad addition to the game?
If he really does make both good and bad decisions like everyone else, then wouldn’t it be wrong to say this game is a sinking ship based on one of his bad decisions when there are also tons of good decisions to come?
Besides, as stubborn as he may be about some changes, he at least has more of a team to keep him in check now
I appreciate vetex taking a chance with making the gameplay feel like how it would be in-canon, but I also think that even Lobotomy Corporation was seriously treading the line with “the annoying painful gameplay is canon”, and Vetex is no Project Moon.

I play for the actual gameplay
