You’re actually the 3429th

this is the 3000th realistically
Also I wonder how much animals would lag out some servers
Knowing we got mass production of animals like birds

It says 3000 on the side, at least for the time being, czechmate.
Just wanted to go ahead and make some people sad today!
i hope the arcanium mortars are good unlike the arcanium cannons
some arcanium cannons are decent like light but others like magma are downright unusable
ice just being worse snow ![]()

this is a real question: do people genuinely use mortars like all they do is slow your ship down and I see the cannon balls rarely hitting for little damage and, i’m not sure but I think they don’t even break t4+ walls because they’re broken
you have to be close to the walls
yeah they are good if you know how to predict ship movement
I also will use them on my full speed ship rather than cannons because its only -3 speed
Free damage on npc ships
Hopefully when this is tested vetex will change the mortars being able to target above sea level stuff
bro is using the wrong type then, mine do like 4k per hit and have the radius of a brig
yeah attack size mortars are actually good now after that one damage radius change
Mortars have saved me from countless atlantean ships… At least the size one, theyre wehere half ky cannonballs go…
Mortars were good until their reticle became able to move above the sea surface. Since then, they’ve been nothing but dead weight to me; their firing feels worse or straight-up doesn’t work (usually the latter, especially in places like Fort Castrum) and they target literally ANYTHING above the water, even the wind.
Yes, the WIND.
If you want speed, just pry the mortar off. It’s a complete headache.
oh yeah I meant to say it was good before the last patch
Here’s hoping that the previous mortar patch is reverted in Full Release.
Back to explain bc I’m a hater
Firstly, lost magics are only going to be available at level 300, meaning it’s already going to be worth more than sunkens by default given that you don’t even have access until later in the game where things would be worth more by default when sunkens, while they’ll still be valuable due to their scaling with level cap, are available as early as level 50.
Secondly, the item chance becomes so much rarer for scrolls given the amount of them there are. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, the chance of finding a scroll is the same as finding a sunken, or 1/2000. If we assume we’re getting 20 lost magics (which we’re likely getting more but I can’t find the thing that says 40 like I think it is), then we get 1/2000 x 1/20, which is equal to 1/40000 for a SPECIFIC scroll (for additional context, prometheus acrimony is a 1/6000 chance, while grinding for a specific sunken is a 1/8000 chance). This isn’t even considering that it could’ve been rarer by default, or the amount being closer to 40 magics, for looking for a specific scroll.
For this chance to ever be anywhere close to finding a non specific sunken, the general drop rate for a scroll would have to be 1/100, making it 1/2000 for a specific scroll. Unless you think lost magic scrolls are fucking everywhere, then this value should obviously sound stupid.
Third and finally, this would absolutely make scrolls more valuable in trading than sunkens if it was the scroll system still. Do you really think a trader or any person in general would have taken that much grinding and borderline gambling to get a lost magic… just to sell it for less than a sunken??? This isn’t even considering how a metagame would cause the price to fluctuate considerably, meaning if you’re a normal person looking for a magic you want because you like it that happens to be meta you’d be shit out of luck in regards to trading for it, meaning you’d have to either hope you get it on your lost magic find or hope the one you get has enough leverage to get you the one you want.
I’m not going to pretend like the new hecate shard system is absolutely perfect, I have my gripes with it, but compared to the scroll system it is WAY better and WAY more easy to get the magic you want compared to the scroll system.
Tl;dr: No, lost magic scrolls would not have been worth less than sunkens by a MILE. No, the hecate shard system isn’t perfect, but it isn’t rng hell compared to the scroll system. I know I’m HOURS late and the conversation is over, but I’m petty. Have a nice day everyone.
do hecate shards apply to ancient magics as well?
yeah
Yes but we don’t know exactly how they do yet. The assumption is either multiple hecate shards required on a base magic (which I think is more likely) or using a hecate on a lost magic
