Your posts about the essence made me join my clanmates in the Dark Sea run for hecate, so that I could check if it is actually so bad. We found it after like 4-5 hours in one run. And it wasn’t something extremely boring, we were discussing things, making fun out of 8 atlanteans chasing our teammate, playing hide and seek with downed friend trying to find and revive him on a huge island.
I think you have just burned out and need to re-look the ways you are playing this game.

could be added as the primary effect of a specific spirit weapon/magic
vetex makes it hard to find because he didnt want it in the game in the first place i think
guys its over the game is doomed because hecate essence is hard to find, pack your bags

Vetex intentionally made it miserable to find and wants it to be that way.
Games can be difficult and still be fun, hecate essence isn’t difficult in the slightest, its just a tedious nightmare designed to waste the player’s time as much as possible.
You having a good time and getting extremely lucky doesn’t make it good for literally anyone else.
In that very same thread I’ve seen people talk about their 20+ hour searches for essence.
That’s not to mention that you’re talking about bringing your clan over to help you find it.
No duh you found it with a team sweeping the islands far faster than any player normally could.
Most people do not have that luxury.
Now hold on, they haven’t posted anything about the imbue yet officially

fighting style users should be able to use all of the fighting styles at the same time for lore accuracy

Honestly any game ever with a form of collectibles suffer from a similar issue (tedious and miserable) and yet a lot of the games are still masterpieces (batman Arkham games for example with the riddler trophies)
weapon users should be able to randomly fumble and drop their weapons for lore accuracy
