Full Release Update Patch Notes (Discussion Thread)

no one said that’s the case, cannon fist can still get reworked later down the line

Honestly, I’d rather see Cannon Fist not have its cannonball selection and ammo depletion if it means its design matches its unlocking point. It’s designed like a late game Fighting Style that relies on you having more cannonballs than cells, but it’s unlocked when the player can barely do anything regarding ship combat, which is how you get the good types of ammo (and even then, only with a chance to get it). It’s just a pretty bad style overall with its reliance on the player stockpiling the good cannonballs without using them on cannons, which is kind of why you’d WANT cannonballs in the first place.

so basically, add an infinite option for the default normal cannonball then

Now that you bring that up? Sounds like a fair enough compromise. Having the infinite option for just the normal cannonballs would make it not complete ass when it’s unlocked, but would give you the option to use up your rarer cannonballs if you really wanted to.

Oh boy, the pipe bomb fighting style!

Wait, he was that quick to add a new fs?

so im guessing high damage but it’s easier for people to parry

Did something crazy happen at all today? I haven’t been lookin’.

Oh I was inches away from my answer.

I feel like it’d be more interesting if this fighting style let you select certain moves to “dust” and “ignite” while making/editing a skill, with dust moves dealing less damage but setting up the powder for the ignite moves to blow up and deal a good bit more damage and an extra explosion (hit four people for four times the boom). Specifically having to select what moves you will use to dust and which ones to ignite could be interesting as opposed to just damage after a second or few.

This is actually exactly what I guessed it would be.

Unfortunately, the description makes it just sound like a single tick of a dot basically

It may work like crystalized tho

This reminded me of kai lazurai from pilgrammed.

potentially diabolical with moves that hit a bunch of times like uppercut

that doesn’t really seem to match up with the description, but even if it was, it’s just a crystal warlock in that case.

watch as the explosion is decently loud and now uppercut throws gunpowder onto your speakers and blows them up with latent magic energy

I think normal cannonballs should be free with Cannon Fist, but you have the option to use other types at the cost of consumption.
