I feel like the Sameria monk guy might teach it
That would be cool but Sameria already has their cultural fighting style (Thermo) and I feel like the monks are going to be there for either waterproofing or the storyline.
Yeah true or an upgraded Thermo later down the line
I could have sworn I heard something about it being on Makrinaos, but I think Iâm just going insane
powder fist warlord x dragon dance
Claw and Shale are so empty Iâm begging for something there
So many wilderness islands exist for the sole purpose of providing land for treasure charts or being spawnpoints for NPCs. I would say we should be used to it by now, but maybe things will change. Vetex did add the PVP toggle, and he did execute it in a way that is neither invasive nor inconsiderate(to an extent).
HEREâS MY FULL ANALYSIS. CAN YOU TELL IâM IMPATIENT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS FIGHTING STYLE?
Makrinaos seems highly likely. It fits thematically, it adds more reason for people to go to the island (which is great because itâs Vetexâs favorite, itâs important for criminal players to know about, and it holds important lore), and it would start a trend of assassin islands always having a fighting style mentor on them.
The Eastern Reaches seems like a weird second pick from me, I know. But I think itâs the sort of place that someone who likes to âvanishâ would hang around. Itâs close to the edge of the sea, a section of it borders the Dark Sea, and itâs sooo huge that it would be hard to find someone hiding there. The size could also be used as a point against it, though⌠It hardly seems fair to make players search for a fighting style mentor in such a huge area. But at least having a mentor there would justify its existence beyond being another empty Pelion Rift/Mount Othrys type area (Iâm sorry for the Mount Othrys slander, itâs quite scenic I know, it just doesnât have anything to do on it).
Pefkos is a likely option, but you canât access it for part of the storyline due to Mordenâs mission there, and I feel like it would be a bit weird to lock someone out of acquiring a new fighting style for part of the story.
Rosehenge could be it, especially since it was finished being built around the same time. But itâs a Sameria-owned town, so itâs far removed from the hidden/secrecy theme, and it has the same problem as Pefkos with being locked during certain story parts.
It definitely canât be Monos, since that already has a mentor.
Sameria already has Thermo Fist as its culturally-tied fighting style.
I highly doubt itâs the Nimbus Lands, because Vanishing Style is going to be added before the Nimbus Lands will be explorable by testers. Also, Vanishing Style was originally supposed to be in the Empires Update, and that wasnât going to have the Nimbus Lands. So unless the planned location for this mentor changed between then and now, the Nimbus Lands are ruled out entirely.
Tidecliff Isle has Ruby Roger and his crew, and I feel like itâd be a bit weird to put two important NPCs there, but maybe Iâm being nitpicky.
Claw Island and Drakos Arch are cool picks. Or maybe inside of Shale Reefâs large cave. But they donât really have anything uniquely favoring them.
Shieldguard is definitely a big no, because it would be very unreasonably difficult for criminal players to get the fighting style.
The Forest of Masts is kind of a fun idea, you could have the mentor be up at the top of one of those pillars and give them a cool treehouse or secret hideout. But I reaaally donât think itâs likely at all.
Vents of Aeolus I could definitely see. I imagine it doesnât get many visitors, since itâs only used to reach Skyhall (not many people wanna do that), and most people donât have gliders. Awfully dangerous place for a vacation due to the volcanoes, but a great place to hide away from people for that same reason. Also it would reward players who take the time to explore the island upon reaching it instead of immediately progressing the story and gliding up to Skyhall.
I donât see how it could be at Port Mistral. I think thatâs weird, and if a powerful person cared about that island enough to live there then I think they wouldâve tried to help fight off Keraxe.
Mount Othrys is out of the question, as that would make it not just a Nimbus Sea fighting style but a Bronze Sea one too.
its makrinaos because there was literally that one npc with a house that never had a use
Brainrot too strong. I said âvanishedâ instead of âfinishedâ
Shale Reef is empty huh? Once weâre able to upload images again I think youâll like my next topic. You might even enjoy analyzing it frame by frame
Cynthia, right? It would be really cool if she was the mentor, I agree. I feel like she serves enough purpose that I could see her not being a mentor, since she adds to the islandâs intrigue and hints toward its secrets. But she was a pretty cool NPC and Iâd love to see her get more.
I feel like Cynthiaâs going to have a (non-fs) important side quest and maybe be part of the story at some point, although vanishing fist does make sense for her
Seems more like a Rill Hendrix, new ability.
I mean come on, they both live in shacks on top of a chilly assassin base that the navy canât track for the life of them despite it being painfully obvious?
OOH what if she gives the quest to fight the Banished King side boss?
yeah, i kinda want her to have more than a fs, she feels important in a different way; and giving her a fstyle feels limiting.
unless that fstyle was rewarded after a slightly longer/important quest, but that also feels unfair to fstyle players.
i just realised that depending on how vanishing style actually works i might be very interested in it, might replace my warlockâs sailor style with it if itâs something i rank above water
Boxing: go defeat 5 pirates
Ileg: go break 10 trees
cfist: go take down some cirimal
sailor: go shark hunting
thermo: dig up
powder fist: go kill a bear
Vanihing fist:
Go defeat the undead king, who is getting puppeted by the manifistation of magic itself, The Chaos.
Well you already killed a bear so itâs a bit of a step down

It canât be her since the mentor is being added (was that said about powder fist though? I donât remember that being the case)
Ironically, it might confuse some.
Only limbs that have been changed to have a different package/mesh are able to be protected from limb loss, itâs not just a torso thing.
