The Nimbus land is now finished, Vetex is now working on Rosehenge (where iris is send off) and Bunch of Wilderness island in Nimbus sea

ah yes, it totally makes sense to have a small explosion and a big explosion to have the same amount of knockback! this is very intuitive game design and players will understand that this is the case as soon as they figure out knockback exists.

OH YEAH, AND WIND SURGE DOES NOT APPLY KNOCKBACK AT ALL
HOW FUN HOW A MAGIC’S MAIN GIMMICK IS JUST DELETED FOR A CERTAIN SPELL BECAUSE IT WAS BAD FOR BALANCE OR SOMETHING

I know I shouldn’t get mad over stuff like this, but come on
let people have fun making minmaxed silly huge knockback builds that aren’t viable in the slightest in any situation outside of trolling

Hours of playing voxlblade has made me numb to nerf reasons such as this

I believe AO would have been so much funnier if things where balanced to be crazy powerful in multiple ways instead of boringly weak

do you even know how big of a problem knockback is on surge? if knockback was on surge, wind mages could literally just stunlock people and win fights instantly.

unless i don’t understand the wind effect right, it’s not really stunlock
while having it in full effect on surge would be busted i think the wind effect should still be there, although a fraction of its potency

look up like ‘gale gel surge’ or something it was a huge problem

It was stunlock and absolute death on surge, but I still think wind should retain the knockback on Pulsar.

If any of you are about to ask, yes I’ve fought decent wind mages before but ehh hot take I guess

its like sparrow thrust knockback where it stops you from moving, when surge was first released u would get stunlock for the first 5 hits bc they had knockback, they would bassically overwrite each other if i remember well

I think they were just building it and Vetex finally got to adding it.

that or just focusing on sky islands over rose

just make knockback not stun you on wind surge
balance team constantly throwing

Wind Surge only applies knockback on the first 5 ticks, and Wind as a whole only knocks back if the attack deals more than 5% of the target’s health due to Wind Pulsar abuse
