it still has iframes and mobility (which block doesn’t have) so I don’t think it’s THAT useless

you get out of the attack and if you time it properly, negate it completely

oh yeah the block keybind is kind of annoying to reach for me personally but idk

The dodge is WAY slower and extremely prone to desync, blocking is better in nearly all scenarios

You should rarely try to dodge an attack, keep dodges for mobility, and block/parry to defend

I think rarely is an exaggeration (maybe im saying this because souls player) but indeed, blocking is slightly less riskier in 90% of situations

Whenever you get into high level pvp, it’s not “slightly” less risky, people WILL hit you inside your dodge or in it’s endlag

What do you even consider high level PvP-? Also that’s… just dash-catching. You’re supposed to time it, so the enemy’s attack is negated for the time. Of course if your enemy is good enough you will get hit in the endlag, that is what you’re supposed to do when the opponent has iframes.

Silly builds will stay silly until illytex doesn’t ignore 95% of the balance

And that’s why blocking is nearly always better, blocking has way lower startup, no “travel time” (you can let go instantly) and no endlag whatsoever, you can instantly cast after blocking if you have good enough ping

I doubt this is possible in world PvP but I see your point

Illytex leaving the optimization in shambles, adding more visual clutter (explosion rework incoming), and leaving gamebreaking bugs in for a year :heart:

Also don’t forget that you can now dodge while blocking

I’m definitely going to get a lot of use out of those iframes, since I dash like a kid who got to pick something out from the candy aisle.

I’ve had an idea for a while where if aimed upward projectiles get a short immunity window where they cant hit the ground, since high level builds literally cant fire projectiles without being in the air

I fired a flying slash straight up once and it hit the ground BEHIND ME

Wait, we got a dash W? Heck yeah!
I always thought it was weird that dodging in AO is just moving, and not really protecting you from anything no matter how well you time it.

Now you can counter the size gang with timing!

oh yeah this makes weapon projectiles completely useless since they dont have an aerial hitbox beyond a 0 dimensional point
