So anyway i was making a donut out of foam in one of my classes and i had to cut a hole in the middle of it to make it look like a donut

So for forumcraft lite we are making lore for each of our characters and i finished my lore today but I’m making them find something in game so that they have to work for my lore (its literally just gonna be a piece of paper in a chest)
Ok so I need the help of Minecraft redstoners
So pretty much the pink is a pig, gold is pressure plate, you can tell what the orange/green is, red is redstone, red/brown is redstone torch, gray/brown is piston.
So pretty much i have a secret door, and my idea is that you walk up to the wall where the pig is and pull out the carrot, which makes it walk on the pressure plate, which deactivates the redstone door and opens it.
Will this work?
Also to close the door i just go on the other side to get the pig to move with the carrot again
