if we’re talking roblox (its pretty much the only game i play anyways )
overrated: blox fruits (I HATE THIS FUCKING GAME)
underrated: daybreak (its meh)
calm community: … is there even any calm communities?? i guess any roleplay game
toxic community: literally every game ever
disinterested: Sols rng (i’ve played it like once and i despise it)(i played it against my will btw)
keeps me playing: Arcane Odyssey, Phighting, couple of RP games, Pressure
Overrated [type every single f###ing anime game that copies everything from original source, changes it and somehow gets 100+ players. Oh also all brainrot simulators here]
overrated - every single bg game, even the ones that “innovate” with stuff like breakable terrain and whatever other nonsense they add, its not gonna save them from being m1 hitstun youtube combo simulators
underrated - Gearbound, randomizer currently being made. it had like at max 3-4 players during its open beta and i think it was pretty good. cant wait for full release
overrated: probably sols rng that game is legit just an afk simulator and it somehow has 100K+ players
underrated: veloi.xolo
calm community: i cant think of a solid answer but small games tend to be less toxic overall
toxic community: out of games i actually play its deepwoken
disinterested immediately: balthazar (thought itd be a neat game but its literally just combat warriors 2 atleast to me, even if its not id still be disinterested)
game that keeps me still playing: lore game… even though ive done practically everything to be done on it i still play it actively and find it fun
I will give both a “General” game (non-ROBLOX games), and a ROBLOX game for each catagory. I’ve left a bunch of links thrown throughout this reply (look for the ). Feel free to explore!
I’m willing to answer any questions that anyone has regarding any of these. Though, I’m not going to be debating any of my choices. Please note everything listed here is my own, personal opinion. They are not intended to be insulting or rude to any fans of these games. This is intended as to share what the most/least engaging, overrated, etc games are to myself. Thank you.
Please also note any games I’ve marked with an means I have not played said game. So, take my opinions on those games with a grain of salt.
MOST OVERRATED
General Call of Duty
From an outside perspective, I don’t see really anything different between the CoD games. On-top of this, what makes them different from other FPS games? It just feels like a FPS game thats set in the more “real” world. I don’t see the appeal.
Sol’s RNG
AFK simulator. Not sure why this blew up so much. Only good thing I can say about this game is at least the very very talented ROBLOX VFX artists can earn some money. I would’ve placed Blox Fruits in here, but at least Blox Fruits has gameplay, something that Sol’s RNG does not have.
MOST UNDERATED
General Minecraft: Story Mode
Can it be cringe? Maybe…? I actually really enjoyed playing through MSM when I was a kid. Even now, I revisit the game sometimes and play through it. This game has a weird sense of nostalgia to me, and for some reason, I can continue to play it after finishing it 5+ times now. Maybe it’s because it doesn’t keep changing like Minecraft does? It’s exclusivity maybe? Either way, I would recommend this game highly to anyone. If only it wasn’t offsale…
Altitorture
Perhaps this is more “unknown” than underrated. If you want a more “underrated” game, try Randomly Generated Droids.
Altitorure is a fun test of teamwork. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game has ruined friendships. I remember playing this game with @Tobi for about ~2 weeks until we gave up. This game is definitely worth a try if you have time.
MOST CALM COMMUNITY
General Hollow Knight
This was a really hard pick between Hollow Knight and Celeste. I ended up picking Hollow Knight just because I enjoyed it much more than Celeste. Hollow Knight’s community is incredibly positive, and despite Hollow Knight: Silksong taking so long to release, this community has continued to stay alive and positive.
I might be a little bit biased though, I both love the game, and it was made in the same city I was born and raised in, being Adelaide, South Australia.
Azure Mines
It losing a lot of it’s community definitely helped it a lot. I cannot think of any other note-worthy games that have a non-toxic community besides this one.
Not much to say about this one.
MOST TOXIC COMMUNITY
Xbox
While not a game, I’ve noticed a lot of Xbox players are a lot younger than PlayStation players. This generally leads to more toxicity in any competitive multiplayer games in comparison to PlayStation or PC games.
While I’m not saying PC and PlayStation are innocent in this regard, in my own experience, voice chatting with randoms on Xbox has been a lot more toxic than voice chatting with randoms on PlayStation.
If I had to pick a game, I would pick League of Legends or Valorant.
Deepwoken
I really don’t want to say Deepwoken is toxic. It’s just that a PvP permadeath game promotes toxicity, especially on ROBLOX.
Deepwoken is a wonderful game, with a fun combat system and flashy weapons and moves. My issue is, a lot of players that are fairly “nice” are all low levels who don’t know how to play the game. A lot of the regulars of the game will randomly kill you (bounty or not), and it can get frustrating when you’re a new player, or someone who’s just trying to progress a build.
Voidwalkers are a major issue as well. I will not talk about my opinions on voidwalkers simply because this isn’t the right topic for it, but I would highly encourage watching Eclipse’s voidwalker video to understand my general consensus on voidwalkers.
MOST DISINTERESTED
Minecraft
I think a lot of us here would agree with me with this. I think Minecraft is amazing, don’t get me wrong. But I literally cannot play the game for more than 10 minutes. Mods aren’t interesting to me, and the gameplay loop got repetitive to me. I think I need a set goal to look to in order to enjoy a game, but Minecraft doesn’t have that. I’m not saying it needs one, I’m saying I just prefer that.
This is why I enjoy Terraria more.
Vesteria
It’s a bandit beater. It’s fun at times, but the “grind” to max level is just killing things for 10 hours, then rebirth to do it all again. The grind for top tier gear is frustrating and time consuming, relying on heavy RNG. The character customization is lacking a lot as well, and dye being locked behind premium currency is disappointing.
MOST ENGAGING
Stick Fight: The Game
Weirdly replayable, it’s similar to Lethal Company and Content Warning where the fun is mainly found with the fun interactions you have with your mates. Beat eachother up with guns and lasers in fun environments. What else could you ask for?
ROBLOX Specific World of Magic
It’s nostalgic, and sometimes I enjoy the mindless grinding it has now. It doesn’t have the same charm as back before AO released, but I still love playing it.
