General forum consensus on deepwoken

which roblox game has better pvp than deepwoken? i judge rpg games solely based on their combat

We’re not gonna talk about the arcwarder + ironsing meta? the still really cheese curved blade of winds? That + spectral path?
It’s balanced outside of very new stuff, honestly. Which, sure, that’s to be expected… Chime also just sucks, literally build vs build; world pvp ain’t so bad
But god fucking dammit, could they have done better with checking things in the balancing.

if I had to choose, Deepwoken

AO PvP has a huge disconnect in interest between its developer and community IMHO. Deepwoken is the complete opposite, the (inner) community typically having a say for balance. the community is very involved in balancing for AO, but it doesn’t feel like the developer cares too much for the stability of the PvP scene

the idea of PvP in AO got extremely stale when I realized whatever bug/meta exists is going to undeniably exist for 2-3 months (agil/aspd), it will change once (not even to the accuracy of the public document, because they are not game designers), then repeat. im not too fond of the mechanics either, it’s not really my style. it is for others, and that’s alright. it’s meant to be more of a PvE game, and it does that much better than Deepwoken

Deepwoken’s a better PvP game, AO’s a better PvE game

yeah, arcwarder still seems pretty tanky. i heard ironsing was tuned down though, not sure. its been a year since i played chime, i usually just watch yt/talk to friends about Deepwoken. starting to get back in though

from what I’ve seen curved is really good but not uber OP (as with most legendaries) ? i have to learn floor 2 to try and get one too…

this is actually the build im working on with jetstriker because the theme is so cool, i love the idea of speed lmao. is spectral actually broken rn? the bar is slightly underwhelming tbh but i just got back

yep. a lot of the new stuff is typically pretty overtuned, I don’t think they undergo much testing. but the upside is you can expect changes every week, so you atleast know if something is ridiculous it’s probably getting tuned in 1 - 2 weeks and not maybe tuned in 2 - 3 months (lol)

I take back what I said, they need to do some shit about dagger, and it’s been in since DAY ONE.

might aswell drop AO

Even I’d say deepwoken here.
Though if don’t like losing tons of progress on death (or any at all), go give Skyrift a try.

I can’t say I experienced much of Deepwoken’s PvP while I played it but skyrift tops every part of it I did experience.

how similar is skyrift’s combat compared to deepwoken

Ok so one important thing about skyrift:
You’re max level the second you enter the game, you can allocate your stat points and abilities however you please and make just about whatever build you want.

It is SOLELY a PvP dueling game.

i might reject deepwoken and embrace skyrift

No harm in trying, skyrift only demands that you do a decent bit of reading before you really get into it to understand stuff like status effects and mechanics.

Unlike DW, which demands a tiny bit more of your time.

For your first few duels, expect to understand NOTHING you’re seeing, you will almost certainly get stomped into the dirt like everybody else does at the start lol.

sounds more fun as a solo/coop game

None of what you said is even very good lol.

Neither are daggers.

Arcwarder is far better with smth like frostdraw or literally any attunement except ironsing, ironsing’s kit is laughably easy to parry/block with high startups that also make it easy to punish

I will never consider ao a pvp game no matter how many sweats it has and deepwoken pvp is overrated and horrendous in my opinion, I like how they tried to make it skilled based but the game’s combat has become it’s entire personality and the pvp is the most forced unfun shit I’ve played and even when it’s not it’s just a parry trade simulator.

Skyrift pvp is actually pretty easy, you only really lose to the uber sweats who still play the game for whatever reason

Has bro not played since verse 1
Parry trade simulator is only if both players are absolutely horrendous and don’t know they even have skills.

It was easy to learn but the first duels I had were visual chaos and I had no idea how to respond to anything I was seeing lol.

From what I’ve heard from other new players, this is a common first experience.

When you cut the entire fight part out ofc it looks goofy

Looks like bro just stood still and took 30 swings judging from the cut tho

If he didn’t it would’ve been a two hours parry trade just for one to then tun away when he is low.
