I’ve recently switched from a spirit to a full magic build, and hunting dragons with spirit sensing was easy enough, but now it’s much harder. The young dragons are nearly the same level as mutated Atlanteans and the adolescent dragons aren’t guaranteed to have magic. Idk how to differentiate the size between levels.
You’ll be able to see the scale color as the backdrop color of a dragon’s energy signature, also there’s Dragoncliff Islands that can spawn in insanity 1 and above.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure all Magicless Dragons have lavender auras from Energy Sense, like other Magicless enemies. Think they all have the same aura size too.
If you’re just looking for the Young Dragons that spawn on normal islands, that’s all I’ve got. If you’re after stronger ones, I’d go into the Insanity ranges and search for the dragon-exclusive islands; all you need to do for those is sail around, sense occasionally, and make yourself look like that one gif of Willem Dafoe looking up.

Just don’t use sensing and find any island, dragons are common asf

generally speaking - tall. dragons are almost always atop dragoncliff meaning their aura tend to be pretty high up
their aura ball also tend to be pretty large from my experiences

Weapon sense makes it insanely easy cuz they’re the only colored balls other than your ship in the dark sea. Not sure if you have it though
