Giant Urchin found on top of a strange island in the Dark Sea

I have 200 hours in this game and never came across this type of island or this creature before. When I destroyed it with an attack, it dropped what I think is a reagent. This was the only Urchin present on the island.

Yeah they got added with lots of the other new dark sea biomes with the deckhand update. You can’t use the spines for any potions yet but hold on to them just in case.

I have 400 hours on my main dark sea file and I still haven’t found this island yet :sleeper:

I think all stationary underwater things do % based damage, because clams always do 50% of your health

i think its aomwhat less than that cause else i would die a lot more now

ig its more like 20 25 or maybe 30 since i dont remember losing a limb to them

So its one of 4 things I think

  1. You are misremembering
  2. It is percentage based up until you reach a certain health threshold then it becomes flat damage
  3. The damage was changed between you getting hit and me getting hit
  4. It happens to do the exact amount of damage to take me to half health

brb gonna get myself stabbed by some urchins ( for research purpose )

in the deckhand update new ds island variations/structures were added so that’s probably why this seems new to you

If it is % dmg, they don’t deal enough to make me lose a limb, surprisingly.

140 + poison up to around 300.

(Prob based on the health amount, but from me it took around these numbers)

I remember urchins r 10% HP without poison dot, which u can somewhat overheal not too much.
Clams r around 45 to 50% hp depending on what kind of weird numbers u have in HP like stuff that is rlly indivisible.
