You can just ping a mod/leader to close your post instead.
I mean I can’t edit/delete someone elses post, but I can edit/delete my own soo shouldn’t this be possible?

You can’t delete topics you’ve made if people replied to them since you can technically delete their replies as well, which is something only a moderator can do.
You can’t close your own topics because people would probably abuse it.

Locking is a moderator’s ability. As meta said if a post needs to be locked you can flag the post as well and say you want it locked.
If you’re regular, you can just move your own post to trusted lads then flag it
