Grimm's Creation Thread

Hello individuals that happen to inhabit these forums! This will be the place where I’ll be posting… whatever low-quality content I make. It’ll usually be Blender renders (primarily centered around things from Helldivers or Ace Combat) or AO-based rigs (similar to Noah or JTN).
Note: Despite the title, there will likely be no insane stuff posted. It’s just an easy reference to make given my username.

My most recent creation…

Louis Barbieri, a spearman with a deep devotion to those he serves. Who does he serve? I dunno! Appearance inspired by Spear (weapon ball battles brainrot got to me), while the name and bits of lore inspired by a certain SACS pilot.



It’s certainly not my best work, but it’s a decent first post and a good way for me to get back into making rigs. Also this rig somehow broken to the point I won’t be able to make anything else with it, I don’t even know how it happened.

Credit to Zone of Endless (I think?) for the Hell Eagle model and the forward-swept modification.

Interesting helmet design, where’d you get the inspiration from?

It’s just a helmet I found on the catalog and thought would look good when retextured and combined with the rest of the rig.

If I knew how to do that, I would’ve. Sad I missed the opportunity.


A quick render of one of my Helldivers characters. As it turns out, the original wasn’t a transparent PNG, so I had to go and remake it. Rig seems to be messed up with the left robot arm for whatever reason.

Whenever the environment megapack updates, I’ll work on a good render.

Testing some skyboxes for a future project. Decided to recreate the final joust from ACE 0 but with Eagle models (I really should start using the actual ACE 7 models). It turned out okay, though I should get a new texture to recolor for the wings.

A couple extra renders while I work on an a short animation (I struggle at it right now, and it’s just planes!).
Once that’s done with, I’ll make another rig.

Been a bit. I’ve got some new renders.


Inspired by the mid-way point of Task Force 6-3’s mission in Trepang2. They didn’t deserve it.


My first attempt at modifying LUTs, it turned out pretty well. Sadly couldn’t give them a railgun (already used and I dislike reusing weapons), however the PLAS-39 looks closer to what I was going for.

A long overdue remake of an older kitbash of mine. I’ve got a decent chunk of lore written out for this guy, but I’m not gonna post it tonight.

In regards to the “short animation” I was working on, I don’t think it’ll happen. When you’re attempting to recreate a scene from a game nearly * checks notes * nineteen years old, you may have trouble finding assets. As it turns out, the only options I had for the Avalon Dam (which is featured in multiple shots) were ripping the model itself from the ISO (how?) or converting a fanmade War Thunder map (no clue how to do that). Thus, the animation is kinda dead.

However, I have this older one.

Is it good? No. However it’s probably passable until I get to making something new.

A rig is probably next up unless I make a decent quality animation.

I know I said I’d make a rig, however I had some ideas and couldn’t resist.



Partially inspired by Disassembly Drones (most of the yellow isn’t visible, there’s actually barely any), mostly made because I wanted to further mess with LUTs. Bit of lore: An experimental armor developed by Erfinder Industries, currently trying to get funding for large scale production.


It’s the one year anniversary of the finale of Murder Drones today, so I thought I’d tack on a couple references to this. It’s intended to be a scene around the time of the destruction of Ivis (hence the live feed). Also experimented with some new EEVEE settings.

I’ll do the rig next, I promise.

Current work in progress of my next rig. Should be done pretty soon, though it certainly won’t be my best work (this one is only being made because of Silksong).

That’s just the texture that the pauldrons come with. I only have one gravy rig and I’m never making another, they jump me too much for me to give them that attention.





Not inspired by the Green Prince at all, trust me.

Lucius Verdan, once the prince of a thriving kingdom, now just another survivor of the Keraxe’s conquests. Before he could take the throne of the kingdom or obtain a curse, the Keraxe Kingdom invaded and killed his father, along with taking the few curses the kingdom had. Now he sails the seas, constantly evading both assassins and doing bounty hunting work to survive.

Certainly not the best I’ve done and the rig points are fucked up, but it’s enough for now. Also dipped my toes into making simple environments for these showcases instead of the good old baseplate. I don’t feel the face was very good, which is why I included the mask (which does look a bit better), but it doesn’t fix the core issue of me sucking at making faces.

Just some practice working on interior scenes, not much else to it. I haven’t gotten any ideas for new rigs yet, though when I do, there will be one out promptly.
