Yep, here I am for my monthly suggestion where I will likely get downvoted to oblivion.

Dark Sea/Guiding Ravens
Ravens that can be found on high islands that will assist in helping you navigate to the nearest treasure spots and even point at the direction of your ship.

Reason
As we all know, large islands in range 3 plus are hell to navigate, especially if you need to climb the equivalent of the stepstones to get there.
Revealing potions aren’t reliable and for the amount of time you’ll spend exploring, the ingredients aren’t worth it. As well as this, it’s often very hard to find your ship when you can no longer see the sea floor due to high altitude. Ravens will not only help you find treasure but guide you back to your boat in case of emergency.

Abilities

  1. Seek
When the raven is activated it will passively highlight nearby treasure locations.
  2. Homing
Players can tell the raven to reveal their nest at the cost of +1 insanity for 5 minutes. Their nest can be anywhere on the island that’s not obstructed by terrain and will always have good loot (similar to treasure islands). When not using this ability, the nest will be invisible to the player.
  3. Sanctuary
This is the move the raven uses when it’s time limit expires. You can also use this move preemptively before to end it’s duration.
The raven will fly up in the air and reveal a blast of purple energy which will form into a compass. The cardinal direction of your ship will have a bigger needle that glows bright purple, as well as this it will appear on your compass in the UI.

Obtainment
On any island where the top peak goes higher than the dark sea sky limit, a raven can be found. Walk up and interact with it and it will then start flying around you, following wherever you go.
Ravens can be scared off by having an attack thrown at you/near you and they have a 20 minute time limit before they retreat to their peak, in which case they are unusable again.

i guess i’ts just a reasonable addition, especially considering insanity 3+ is literally impossible to explore simply due to the sheer size and the atlanteans 1 shooting you

Almost like you’re not supposed to go that far (right now)

And yet for some reason, vetex keeps adding content that is in range 3+

Yeah because it’s technically mid-game to end-game content. Technically speaking, the hardest part about getting a magic reset down the line is going to be time. Since it takes literal ages to get to Insanity 3+ ranges. By around level 300, we’ll have more than double the HP (and nearly double our base damage) we have now to put things into perspective.

It would still be useful even when we are supposed to be there, no reason to not add it later

For treasure chests (and treasure spots guarded by Atlanteans), potions exist for that.
For our ship, when sensing gets added, that can work for that since we’d be able to sense our crew members. Sensing would also let us sense the Atlanteans guarding treasure, so that’s another thing helping us find treasure spots.

seems like hecate ESSENCE is range insanity 3+
oh, about hecate SHARDS… idk…
OH YEAH AND HECATE GEMS???

Shards are level 300 stuff (Lost Magic), and whatever these gems are it’s probably related to Ancients which are level 450.
