What are those tags? 
Try unequipping it from your inventory slots first, then go to the Alchemist.
Works the same as it did in WoM, from what I can remember.
you have to i equip it first
THE WEAPON DOESN’T HAVE THE “CAN BE ENCHANTED” IN ITS DESCRIPTION.

Just use the club it’s better for unga bunga
Just unequip it and go to an enchanter they can get you situated 
~ alchemist was unnecessary, I had a scroll
