You should NOT be smelling the fish smell off of cooked food.
From personal experience, I’ve had two plates of Tuna in the same week.
One was cooked to the recipe and it was incredible.
The other was not and I could best describe it as strangely flavored fish-colored slime.

Unless they’re intentionally giving the restaurant saltwater smell because some people (admittedly myself) find it refreshing, the food its self should NOT smell like that.
Typically, my picks for fish are Alaskan White Fish, Catfish, Crab (if you count it), Shrimp, Grouper, and Salmon (my personal favorite)
Anyways, if its the sea smell in particular that really throws you off, try looking for somewhere that sources fish from a nearby lake… (unless its horribly polluted or something idk where you live but that WOULD explain things).
