Has Vetex lost his passion for AO?

THIS IS NOT A DOOMPOST:enraged_face: it is a question if you disagree or prove it is a doompost than your right and you earn the medal of

ngl he used to be much more active not only in dev but also with his community he would post trello updates and development informantion in the discord server, create polls to gather community feedback and he would also tease information via lore drops or sneak peeks which of which we havent gotten in a month, not related to Vetex but there also used to be some kind of community manager that would post AO related stuff on the twitter page and honestly stuff like this made the over 1 year long wait for full release more enjoyable than the radio silence of today.

with how slow development is going i think its fair to say Vetex has to force himself to work on AO and I think the failure of full release and players leaving the game demotivated him alot.

Arcane odyssey on peak times has barely more players than it did at its lowest points in the dark sea update

AO peak hours in dragon update 800~

AO dark sea in 4 fucking am in the deepest most depraved drought ever

THIS IS NOT A DOOMPOST  (nor a question) IT IS AN OBSERVATION I PRESENT INFORMATION THAT I THINK IS TRUE IF U THINK THIS IS DOOMPOST I DONT CARE ̶e̶z̶ man im good. also ###### This message was eaten by a shark.

IMPORTANT polls they are important(they do nothing)

  • this is a doompost  and i have the medal of
  • i feel vetex bro id be mad too if i had the world in my grasp(100k players holy moly) and it just slipped away, my money is gone, my time is gone and my community sucks
  • vetex shouldave just not released early access and waited for full release
  • pollfiller1
  • i want to become a dev for arcane odyssey and help vetex escape this hell cycle
  • mistakes were made and now they are biting back
  • pollfiller2
  • story shouldnt be the main focus for arcane odyssey as it sets a limit where playing feels pointless when your past it, instead story should be an optional questline while exploration and freedom should be the biggest focus of this game(horrible take ngl nobody will vote this sbut it exists because pilgrammed did it ik it has like no story but still oldfart dreams is like story and pitjukies and pilgram is have more players ao rn so pill is > ao like u felll me type shi :broken_heart: :wilted_flower: lil bro oilup likern oiup :wilted_flower: )
  • Dude, go to sleep. You used to post actual stuff like with content and meaning and now its just oooo AO dying ooo Vetex gave up like just shut up and sleep.

Vetex has passion

for crappy realism mechanics

Vetex clearly wants to make a soulslike but people just want arcane adventures back

the idea of it being story driven is great, but the issue is that the story is as wide as a lake but as shallow as a puddle

vetex should just forgo a story at this point and go for WoM (while also including things such as proper LoDs, but that’d never happen!)

but, who knows! maybe vetex will fix all the issues

How do we know, go ask himself.

I love doomposting i love doomposting about AO!!1 its so peak!!!

but on a serious note i really do hope the game makes a proper comeback and vetex hires more active testers/developers to help out with ao cuz if not i think this game can genuinely die entirely

Hiring more testers and developers won’t help if he doesn’t improve.

He barely listens to his testers to begin with, adding more he doesn’t listen to won’t help.
Hiring more developers wouldn’t assist development either, as he wants full control over things that are supposed to be implemented or changed (not deleted, never deleted), locking said new developers to a strict goal.

Granted, that can be done… unless you’re working with Vetex’s code which is using WoM’s 6-7[1] year old code, it takes more work to teach someone how to code in the game than just to code it yourself.

Vetex needs to change, not testers nor developers.

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHHH ↩︎

Vetex kinda painted himself in the corner with the community. Sure, the community sucks at times, but he doesn’t prove himself very mature often either. When he does appear in the community, it’s often him falling for ragebait and personally banning someone for several months.

Vetex should focus his efforts into improving his writing skills and just make a book like he was going to do rather than dragging AO out.

I’d be more interested in an improved AO storyline from an improved author rather than a mid story and mid game. In fact it could even be a webcomic like AA and have a subcommunity on Roblox (or any other place) making fangames for it and vetex can just focus on the story.

(I say mid game and not improved game because I doubt Vetex really studies game design like that)

That’s what I’d do if I fell out of love with my Roblox game.

Yeah, developing a game with the complexity of AO already takes a huge amount of time, energy, and effort.

I would find it rather difficult to genuinely try to become a meaningfully better writer while also developing a large-scale MMORPG.

no

:skull: :skull::skull:

where is my vetex delete ao option

i do not think hes lost his passion for ao but i do think hes lost his passion for trying to please the community he seems to despise

AO’s biggest blunder will always be the Update prioritization

  • Underwater update: another way to farm sealed chests (and a more boring one at that) that new players almost never do because its not explained

  • Potions update: ruined the pvp for the following year, new players dont even brew potions, 90% of potions arent even useful and never see any use

  • Dark sea: (finally)

  • Nimbus sea: was bound to be lackluster due to Sameria’s size and lack of a dev team, not anyone’s fault exactly

  • Mistral: feels like it should’ve been part of Nimbus but whatever

  • Empires: Useless clan building feature barely anyone ever uses due to poor implementation and I will never not be salty about that, this took 4-5 months to make.

Imagine a world where ao released Dark Sea first thing in the morning, and its actually part of the story so it comes with a level cap increase (Player is forced to go to Dark sea to hide for a while from Ravenna narratively?)

Not to mention that a month was spent working on alignment system, with Frostmill even being finished iirc[1], then vetex scraps the update while already knee-deep and instead makes irrelevant changes to spirit[2] so people wouldn’t say a whole month of development time was wasted[3].

Canonically all of Dark Sea is i5, you just enter, the sea collapses beneath you and you die instantly.

  1. so it shouldn’t have been a ton of work for other towns, since the groundwork was already made ↩︎

  2. one new rite that wasn’t even spirit-exclusive and 4 special imbuement visuals that are just glorified warrior’s aura ↩︎

  3. it was ↩︎

Morden traversed the dark sea to get the death curse so that theory is disproven

yeah but he didnt

the death curse was just behind the pelion rift

what about the journal
