Have we been too rough on him? Take into account, this is his first mistake (Besides developing for AO, for we all know we are a radioactive community when it comes to updates). Now yes, the strength weapon req nerf was way too much, even for 50/50 warlords. But it’s more so fixed now, savantlords still get hit while warlords not as much (although it’s better to run 50/50 in some setups i believe).
And to all we know, this is the first time he ‘‘made’’ a bad nerf. By ‘‘made’’ i mean he didn’t exactly do it, rather it was the balance team requesting upon it, and as all we know, the balance team has done a ton of unnecessary/big nerfs that destroyed builds. Speaking of, to this being fixed, it doesn’t specify ANYWHERE that it was requested by the bteam to lower the req from 65% to 60%, that was all moochezz.
Update, i wanted to add this, since it seems moochezz doesn’t even add stuff that he wants, it’s mostly vetex telling him, which all comes from somewhere (Balancing would be bteam and vetex, ideas n stuff prolly a mix of everything, and so on)
I’m of the opinion that making half-baked kneejerk changes based on the whims of a mere gaggle of dorks still dedicated to braining each other in this mathmatically-impossible-to-balance sfxfest that even scared Meta off was certainly not the best move; especially not with the sentiments moochezz expressed.
I wish them well on their break if they’re taking one, but Terraria 1.4.5 launches on the 27th so by the time they get back I’ll be thoroughly distracted with a game that doesn’t balance based on the loudest yellow name getting their arse whooped in a 1v1.
That is true, i mean the closest we’ve been were the wind magic nerfs, that destroyed the magic, making it only mildly usable on wind ice mage. But that’s just one magic, not an entire build based around a specific set of weapons
I will hold out some kind of hope that Moochezz learns to assert themselves more appropriately and takes the time to curate changes like this with a small cadre of testers first; at least long enough to see if the popularity or feedback of the change is worth the vitriol it would more then likely generate.
That is true indeed, the main issue of most balancing changes is that they aren’t tested, the only ones that were are those made during the development of full release, not those post FR hotfixes.
Eitherway, i do feel like the community is overreacting, or at least was, because everyone was spelling doom to moochezz while he was just doing orders (not from Bteam but rather vetex himself).
True, but we have to understand that the balance change wasn’t even tested, although it had good intention (that is to nerf mainly savantlords, but also warlords to an exctent), it doesn’t mean it’s done appropiately or what it’s expected, even less with no testing done beforehand.
we all know vetex went onto his light yagami mode and told partcline, galaga, moochezz and tobi they were all pawns in his game and that he just needed them for full release then proceeded to fire them all al the same time and manipulate them into telling the community they were just tired
who the guy that direct message to other topic that has luffy pfp
i want to ask him if i can send screenshot if moocheez step down from full time developer
The devs are trying to do right by the game, so I think hostility towards the devs to any degree is uncalled for. You can say “this change/addition was a mistake” and that’s just fine, even better would be “this change/addition has made the game worse, here is the reasons why” and explain where you’re seeing problems, but how is “this was a mistake, [dev name] is bad” going to help anything?
That’s divanochi, although i don’t think he’ll allow it since i’ve already seen people get the image deleted for being a leak, i think it depends on if it was sent on a tester/patreon exclusive chat and if this can alter what people say if it were to get out. Basically avoid a bigger issue
