This sounds like it’ll be extremely interesting. it’s a questline that’ll let us join? they use a codename? sounds extremely secretive and i’m here for it.
i’m hoping, in terms of lore, it’ll be similar to the Revolutionary Army in One Piece. going through the forums, i’ve seen some theories that it’ll be controlled by the Order? meh, either way, sounds like a neat little arc, even if it’s not directly connected to the main story, like Greenwish.
since it’ll allegedly be a joinable faction, similar in my mind to the Navy and Assassins, I’m PRAYING that we’ll get to keep our regular clothes, since I’m under the assumption that it won’t be directly connected to renown since both sides are already taken (or if not, it’ll be somehow connected to Neutral renown, where nothing you do can increase renown or bounty, idk)
for some reason i imagine whatever color they’ll have will be green. just a hunch. Navy = Blue, Assassins = Red, Green seems reasonable, although Greenwish already kind of took that, so maybe Yellow, which could match up with the Agora’s old newspaper aesthetic.
sorry for this wall of text i just find theorycrafting fun. i’ve never been fond of joining the navy or the assassins because their “morals” don’t seem right. the navy has their secrets, as Kai said, and the Assassins are… well they’re just murderers. but I feel like the Juraserva sector will be a sort of neutral gateway without any major flaws.
and again, I’M PRAYING that we get to keep our clothes. i wanna customize myself yk.

The juraserva is the canon faction the player joins and you cant change my mind

also it’d be fun if anybody in the server who’s a member of the Juraserva clan would be able to have some small influence over the papers.
like they get to write their own little headline if they pay a small galleon fee and they can pick from things like Notes or something idk.
yeah this sounds the most reasonable. i feel like they’d be anti-Order, since again, I keep connecting them in my mind to the Revolutionary Army, and I doubt they’ll follow any direct “moral” code like how Assassins are inheritely bad and the Navy is inhereitely good.
“neutral” renown is, in my opinion, the “canonical” route for the player, since we are technically doing the right things, but we’re still criminals in the eye of the law (we did commit regicide)
I feel like this faction should be the pve one about exploring and journalism and shit
You’d get your pen and quill (or arcanium camera if we’re going that way) and you could use it while in the presence of an execution, cool sea beasts, dark sea islands and weather, imprisoned criminals, players holding large fish, etc, to generate “articles” which you can turn in to the juraserva base to get big pay

i would actually kill for that. a PvE clan sounds so cool. and the journalism aspect sounds like such a neat immersive thing like how fishing and cooking works for me. it’d be cool if you got like, little “jobs” that serve as really tiny sidequests.
hell, that could be the “daily” system that Vetex was talking about. if you’re in one of the joinable factions you should get jobs. otherwise… idk, just daily quests by random npcs or something.
i’m making a suggestion for this rn i love this idea thanks
If an underground terrorist organization wanted to keep the people silent about how they control the entire seas, they’d want to control the only news outlet there is. That way they can make sure to never publish anything about them. They’d be the first ones the order would want to put their lackeys in
True. Legendary ships, dragon raids, towers, all that stuff on the Trello could be great for this kind of faction
maybe like, brown for the juraserva because brown is a pretty common color associated with news gatherers and investigators (like a brown coat)
good point. that could be another reason they have a codename, just to hide the fact that the Order controls it. makes me wonder why it’d be joinable though.
that works too. makes me hopeful that we’ll see a cutscene of some news reporter in a brown trenchcoat in the background, and that’d be our first “introduction” to Juraserva. i imagine it’ll be more story based, because i doubt the Navy or Assassin guilds will have any major direct contribution to the story.
My guess for the juraserva uniform is that there isn’t because if you want to be a secretive organization free from any outside bias with objective newspapers written in secret you don’t go around advertising that you’re in this secret organization.
Good point, but Assassin Syndicate. They have every reason not to use uniforms and ships that practically announce their arrival and intentions.

yeah but the assassins don’t need to be undetected to keep doing their whole deal
I absolutely love this idea. Ive seen it be done before where there’s a camera system that can identity what its pointed at. Honestly I’d love to be able to go around taking pictures and it would be fun community wise to take pictures of eachother. Can’t wait to target random innocent npcs with my journalism
They’re meant to kill people, and going undetected is arguably one of the best ways to go about it. If you have an entire ship with shady colors and people, expect the target to see this and be on high alert and on the defense, which means the target will likely be more prepared for what’s about to take place and will make the assassin’s job harder.
Not to mention that there’s a good chance that these individuals will be tracked back to their hideouts with their very conspicuous color scheme, which would probably end up getting them busted (provided that the navy isn’t purposefully turning a blind eye, which I hope isn’t the case.)
p sure its mentioned in a red corner guy or other assassins dialogue that the navy has enlisted the assassins service at times
I’m hoping it’s more just the guys who have their own agenda rather than the higher-ups of the Navy (would there even be a reason for higher-ups to send hits on their soldiers?)
Securing a spot in the higher ranks by eliminating any possible contender.
Or maybe trying to get rid of someone with a different ideology.
If thats what you meant
