Having trouble with "The Ancient Cave" quest

I’m doing a Shell Island quest called “The Ancient Cave”, where you have to find the Ancient Hall at Shell Island. I managed to find the cave, but the quest task isn’t getting marked as complete:

I’m inside of the cave, but the quest isn’t finishing. The waypoint is still about 140 meters away. I then had to get off the game, and when I came back later, I tried going directly to the waypoint.

This is the waterfall behind Monoah Village, and it appears as though the waypoint is in the ground. Is this a bug, or am I missing something here? If anybody knows what I need to do, please tell me.

Near the entrance of the cave, there’s a small box/crate that you need to touch on top of a pillar (similar to touching dotta’s necklace). Once you do that it should complete
